One Piece officially has a new Swordsman stronger than Roronoa Zoro

When it comes to the mighty swordsmen that exist in the world of One Piece, Roronoa Zoro often comes to mind. This is because Zoro is the main swordsman in One Piececonsidering he is a member of the Straw Hat Pirates and the first individual to join Luffy's crew. Zoro's skill with swordsmanship has grown remarkably over the years, and it goes without saying that he is already one of the strongest swordsmen in the story.

Now that One Piece is in the Final Saga, it won't come as a surprise to any fan to know that Zoro is an absolute monster at this point when it comes to swordplay. However, he is far from the strongest swordsman in the world. In fact, One Piece recently officially confirmed an even stronger swordsman to fans, in Dorry of the Giant Pirates, and his superiority over Zoro has been officially confirmed by the author himself.

Zoro is one of the strongest swordsmen in the world right now

Zoro Strongest Swordsmen in one piece

In the Final Saga of One Piece, Zoro is easily one of the strongest characters. He is known for wielding the incredible Three Swords style, and given his mastery of all types of Haki, Zoro can put out massive amounts of power. He has beaten some very skilled individuals over the years, including the likes of King, one of Kaido's three right-hand men. But despite that, Zoro is still not at the peak of strength or swordsmanship. There is many swordsmen found in the world of One Piece who are above Zoro's level. Elbaf has officially introduced yet another one of them, and this time it's none other than Dorry, the co-captain of the Giant Pirates.

Dorry was first introduced to fans in the Little Garden arc One Pieceand then he didn't seem so strong. In fact, his reward was only 100 million berries. However, adjusted for inflation, it has now been revealed that his reward is 1.8 billion berries, automatically placing him above Zoro's level. But what gives Dorry even more strength is the fact that he's been Domi Reversi'd by Imu, giving immortality, regeneration, and a superhuman power buff on top. All these things in consideration, Dorry is clearly the stronger swordsman of the twoand what solidified this is Zoro's own words in One Piece Chapter 1173.

Zoro was afraid to face Dorry and Brogy in Elbaf

As the New Giant Warrior Pirates and Straw Hat Pirates launched their counterattack against Imu's army, Zoro officially asked for permission to take down the giants. After being granted the permission, Zoro quickly went from one giant to another, cutting them down with his incredibly powerful sword ability. However, right after Dorry and Brogy jumped to the scene and decided to attack Zoro together, the latter was completely shocked by their strength, and instead of taking them head on, Zoro decided to get away.

In the official Japanese translation, Zoro clearly states that he can't take them downbut in the English version it was simply painted as if Zoro wanted to get out of the way. The shade didn't carry over to the English version, unfortunately, and that's huge. Zoro basically said that he wasn't strong enough to take on them and that's why he fled their way. This also inadvertently confirms that Zoro is a weaker swordsman than Dorry right now. Although Zoro has the power to channel the Conqueror's Haki with Enma, he has yet to fully master his powers.

Even if something brings down an ordinary man, I must stand strong. I can't fall until I surpass that guy! — Roronoa Zoro

  • Zoro can still grow stronger, and in order to do so, he has to surpass the likes of Dorry in battle the hard way. With a 1.8 billion berry bounty, Dorry was already a monster in One Piece, but when you add in the fact that he was domi-reversed by Imu and given immortality, regeneration, and a massive strength boost, it's pretty clear that his overall level is way above Zoro. In fact, right now, Dory's total power would be far above someone with a 2 billion carry price, and Zoro just isn't at that level yet.

Dorry is a stronger swordsman than Zoro right now, and may very well be the main enemy for Zoro to take on in the Elbaf arc. As usual, Zoro fights stronger enemies and then overcomes them in battle. It could end up being the perfect mini-arc for Zoro in Elbaf, and would bring him even closer to his goal of becoming the world's strongest swordsman and beating Dracule Mihawk.
