Oda officially confirms a Yonko Level Marine

In the world of One Piece, the Marines are known to be one of the three great powers that exist to maintain the balance of the seas. Marines are incredibly powerful, and their strength is such that they can rival the likes of Yonko. That said, very few in the Marine Corps are actually on par with Yonko. In the old era, Garp was the only one who could have been on par with a Yonko or other top tiers of the era.

Oddly enough, just like the previous era of powerful marines in the One Piecethere is a powerful character in the current era as well. This person is none other than the current Admiral of the Navy, and one of the strongest characters in all of history, Fleet Admiral Akainuwhose real name is Sakazuki. With one of the strongest devil fruits in the whole One PieceSakazuki is easily a monster in his own right and he is no less than any Yonko One Piece the world, that's for sure. He may not be Garp, but he's still strong.

Fleet Admiral Akainu is easily one of the most powerful characters in One Piecealthough some fans may be quick to underestimate him due to his being a member of the Navy. Akainu has been in the Navy for a very long time, and over the years has risen through the ranks to become the powerful figure he is today. Akainu was also at one point a vice admiral, and fans saw him as an admiral during the events of the Paramount War arc.

After the two-year time jump of One Piece, Akainu became the fleet admiraland now he has definitely become stronger. First, Akainu has one of the most powerful Devil Fruits in One Piece. His fruit is off type Logia and it allows him to cause large-scale destruction with lava. More than that, Akainu's Devil Fruit seems likely to be resurrected and if so, it could be even stronger than what fans saw before.

Akainu also has strong Hakias shown by Oda himself in the Paramount War arc. He may also have Conqueror's Haki, as expected of someone leading the fleet. Sengoku, the former Admiral of the Fleet, had access to the Conqueror's Haki. Garp, another leader of the previous generation also had access to Conqueror's Haki. It would be absurd to assume that Akainu, the man currently leading the navy, would not have this power. All these forces together make Akainu a top level Yonko level Marine. It's only a matter of time before Akainu encounters a Yonko and shows his full strength, as well as proving why he was given a 5 billion carries Bounty.
