November 16 will be a sad day for One Piece fans

This article contains spoilers from Eiichiro Oda's One Piece.

One Piece is the world's best-selling manga of all time, and no other series ever comes close to it in that regard. One Piece has established itself as the mainstay of Shonen Jump over the past 28 years, and Oda has been constantly working on this monumental manga series. Of course considering the time Oda has given to One Pieceit is no surprise to know that his health is not the best at the moment.

The amount of pressure that comes with being a Jump writer takes its toll. As such, Oda needs more breaks than everand now the first break in November has been confirmed. One Piece chapter 1166which was supposed to be released on November 16, 2025, has now officially been delayed. The chapter has now been pushed back from November 16 to November 23.

One Piece Chapter 1166 has been delayed from November 16th to November 23rd

a break week

October was a pretty tough month for One Piece and Eiichiro Oda. The manga went on a sudden hiatus without warning due to the author's health, on top of Oda's other scheduled breaks. All in all, fans barely got any new content, but thankfully Oda bounced back quickly after the hiatus. Of course, after a tough month, fans are hoping that November will be better in that regard, and now Oda's first scheduled break is upon us.

One Piece's next hiatus is comingand it happens very soon. One Piece Chapter 1166 will get a delay, but that's to be expected, considering Oda delivered 3 chapters in a row, so fans should be thankful. Instead of releasing on November 16th as previously planned, One Piece Chapter 1166 will be pushed back by a week and released on November 23rd, 2025. A one week break every three chapters has been the norm for One Piece for a few years now. There probably won't be any more breaks in November after this one, but if there are, they will certainly be reported here. At the current rate, the next One Piece hiatus will be in early December.

Oda's health issues are the main reason for One Piece's hiatus

Since 2022, One Piece's breaks have increased drastically. Before the Wano arc, even a break a month was a rare occurrence. Since late Wano, fans have seen an interruption every three chapters or so, and now this has become the norm. Of course, fans are wondering what the reason for the hiatus is. While some of them are caused by external factors, such as vacations in Japan, the main reason for the breaks is Oda's health. Oda, like most mangaka, is under enormous pressure and extremely overworked.

Working on One Piece for almost 3 decades is not easy and it takes a physical toll on the creator. Oda has to meet weekly deadlines and push out more content, so a break is very helpful for him in that regard, and it's something fans should be very understanding of. Eiichiro Oda isn't getting any younger, so his job only gets harder every year. Fans can only wish Oda good health so that he can continue with his manga and understand that breaks are very necessary for her own well-being.

Eiichiro Oda's One Piece will be on hiatus next week. One Piece Chapter 1166 is out in two weeks. The official release date of One Piece Chapter 1166 is November 23, 2025. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
