August 7, a patent submitted by Nintendo In February 2024 for a Joy-Con controller, peripherals were published and made the rounds on social media. The new Nintendo patent indicated that an appendix for the Joy-Con checks that includes a handvife is being considered by the company, although it is not clear if this concept will make it into production.
The conceptual Joy-Con accessory can potentially include a mouse surgery sensor, which would interact with Switch 2's Joy-Con-mussors located on the pages of the control. As it says, Joy-Con 2 controllers can be used in mouse mode for specific games, including Mario color On SNES Nintendo Classics app. Upcoming titles like Pull x drive and Metroid Prime 4: Echoes Will also support Switch 2 Joy-Cons in mouse mode, whereby the former is mandatory and the latter is an option for players to consider.
Nintendo Files Patent for a Handvev Control Fortress
While some Switch 2 Joy-Con accessories have had a mixed response, a new patent from Nintendo shows that the company is not ready to develop them. As reported by GameSpot, the patent indicates that the accessory would be attached to a Joy-Con control unit from the side, although it is not clear if this would be for the original switch or Switch 2 Joy-Cons. The control bracket was also shown with a handie that would stand out from the side of the bracket and include complete rotation functions. Handveven would also interact with a mussens, which would enable games either focused on fishing or included as a side activity to use this accessory as an additional control scheme. The handie can also be unloaded from the main connecting accessory and recover as needed.
Although fishing controls have been used as a third -party options for different games, smaller companies have used handwear as an important sale site for their products. A portable console called Playdate contains a small handie attached to the main unit for games that are supported. Playdate was created by Panic, the publishers of indie games that Fireworks and Untitled Goose Game.
An archived patent does not always mean that any objects will be produced, so Nintendo fans should take them with a grain of salt. Given that Nintendo consoles and peripherals have recently increased in price, it remains to be seen what Nintendo's plans are for Joy-Con Controller accessories.
