Xbox running a huge sale on games, with select titles eligible for a Buy 1 Get 2 Free deal. Xbox gamers looking for some new video games to play might want to check it out and see if their desired titles are on sale.
It's a great time to be an Xbox fan, with the first Xbox Developer Direct of the year taking place on January 22nd. The show focused on four games all set to launch in 2026, inclusive Fable, Forza Horizon 6, The Beast of Reincarnationand Oven. As 2026 marks the 25th anniversary of the Xbox family of consoles, there are likely to be more exciting developments ahead, including game sales.

Xbox is now hosting a buy 1, get 2 games free deal that can be applied to over 300 games and DLC from the Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One console generations. The types of indie games included in the sale vary, so fans of almost any game genre can potentially find something that interests them here. The sale will run through January 29, so interested players shouldn't wait too long to check it out.

Access Xbox Buy 1 Get 2 Free Sale
Unfortunately, it's not possible to view the Xbox games included in the sale through a web browser, so players will have to access it through their Xbox consoles instead.
To do so, players should boot up the system and then navigate to the store. From there, look for the Deals section and scroll until the Special Offers banner becomes visible. The sale should be listed there, and players can see a complete list of all games included in the sale.
Make the most of the Xbox sale
While there are some great deals on indie games that gamers can potentially get here, it's worth pointing out that there are some caveats to the sale that can be navigated to get an even better deal.
Once three included games have been selected, the Xbox Store will automatically look at the list and determine which is the most expensive. The two cheapest games will be the ones the buyer gets for free, while the most expensive will be what they have to pay for. Consequently, choosing three games with similar prices will be a better deal for the buyer than choosing one game with higher prices and two cheaper titles. Also, if someone is looking to buy more than a trio of games, choosing the games to include in each package based on their prices can lead to a better deal.
Buy 1, Get 2 Free Isn't the only Xbox sale going on right now
Those who can't find what they're looking for in the Buy 1 Get 2 Free sale or want additional great deals are in luck, because it's not the only sale on Xbox right now. Right before the Xbox Developer Direct, Xbox launched a sale that includes titles from several Xbox first-party developers, with some excellent deals to be had. To name just a few, Quantum Break, Psychonauts and Psychonauts 2, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2and Alan Wake's American Nightmare are all 75% off, while Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon 5 can be secured for a 50% discount. The Fable series is 67% off action adventure game 2025 South of midnight is 25% off, and Ninja Gaiden 4 has dropped to its lowest price ever with 30% off.
