Shonen Jump has entered something of a slump following the conclusion of Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia. The two helped Shonen Jump reach new levels to become even more popular.
Both JJK and My Hero Academia has sold more than 100 million copies, a feat only a handful of other manga have accomplished. So Shueisha is on the hunt for new manga that can help fill the void. One of the manga that will be a potential replacement is Kagurabachi.
Shonen Jump has officially found the new big three
After One Piece, Naruto and Bleach, it's time to welcome the new Weekly Shonen Jump Big Three.
Shonen Jump Teases Kagurabachi Anime Announcement
On April 10, Shonen Jump shared a new teaser visual that featured five unique items:
-
Hawk
-
Bullets
-
Grimoire
-
Goldfish
-
A ring necklace
Each of the things represents a certain anime. For example, the Grimoire is from Black Clover, and the Ring Necklace probably belongs to Yuta Okkotsu, a character from Jujutsu Kaisen. Likewise the Goldfish from Kagurabachi.
It's already been confirmed that Jujutsu Kaisen and Black Clover will return with new anime projects, so it's safe to say that the presence of Goldfish hints that an anime announcement is on the way.
The anime adaptation for Kagurabachi hasn't been announced yet, but it's about time Shonen Jump did. The Kagurabachi manga is popular, but it has yet to reach the same level of fame as Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia.
An anime adaptation can prove to be extremely beneficial, especially since it greatly benefits the fame of the manga.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Part 2 can announce a new update
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Part 1 ended back in March 2026, and it was one of the best projects MAPPA has ever worked on. While the first part just concluded, fans are already eager to know when the second part will be released. Most rumors suggest that Jujutsu Kaisen's next installment will air in 2027, but there has been no official confirmation yet. Hopefully that will change at Shonen Jump Showcase. The new JJK part will cover the rest of the Culling Game, which will include many more incredible fights.
Besides JJK, the Shonen Jump Showcase will also make an announcement related to Black Clover. In 2025, it was confirmed that the Black Clover anime would return, but an exact release date was not shared with the audience. So hopefully there is an update on Showcase.
Kagurabachi can be read on Shonen Jump+.
