Nintendo Switch 2 Patent listed examples of how the upscaling technology would work and included examples of the original and scaled resolutions to be used.
Nintendo Switch 2 is the successor to the original Switch console, and discussions about its power and capacity have made it the worst preserved secret of Nintendo's latest history before its January reveals. Although it has a larger screen than Switch and new Joy-Con control units, Switch 2 will also be backward compatible with most physical and digital switch games, which excludes any exceptions. Although the original switch will still see support from Nintendo via upcoming titles such as Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive EditionIt remains to be seen whether the performance of these games will be improved on Switch 2.

More information about Switch 2 will be revealed during the Nintendo Direct broadcast on April 2.
The patent listed a 540p image as an example of how the AI -ups scale could be used. Like the Nvidia DLSS or AMD FSR, Switch 2's AI upset would run the reproduced image through a neural network and reorganize it. The result of Nintendo's example image would be output at 1080p, double the resolution of the original rendering, with higher image speeds than a complete rendering.
However, the patent did not state that the impact would have on battery life or if higher resolutions could be used with Switch 2 in docked position. Which Switch 2 games will support upscaling remains to be seen. The AI-upscaling patent is the latest in a string of Nintendo patent, with some including support for close-up voice chat in compatible games and applications.
Switch 2's price, release date and features will be revealed during the Nintendo Direct broadcast on April 2. Although questions about Switch 2's warehouse remain unanswered, only time will tell how Nintendo's upcoming console will work compared to other systems.
