Pokémon GOs latest event in January 2026 adds a brand new Pokemon from the series' ninth generation, with Glimpse set to join the roster. The mobile game from Scopely has already seen plenty of new debuts in the first month of January, ranging from new Pokemon to Shiny variants. Pokémon GO's Pinch Perfect event introduced Gen 9 Pokemon Klawf to the mobile game, while the upcoming Precious Pals event will feature the first appearance of Shiny Fidough. Pokémon GO has seen plenty of debuts over the past few months from new Pokémon that were first introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Each month has usually seen at least one to two Pokemon from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet brought to the game, adding creatures like Nacli and Tarountula. Pokémon GO have also seen previous leaks that suggest several upcoming Scarlet and Violet Pokemon may already be in the game's files, including Ogerpon, Terapagos, and Pecharunt, among others. Now, Pokémon GO is preparing to debut yet another new Pokémon from the series' ninth generation.

Pokémon GO officially revealed its upcoming Into the Depths event via the game's social media accounts. The event will add the Glimpse to the game as its main Pokémon, although Into the Depths does not appear to include its shiny variant. The Pokémon GO The event will feature boosted spawns for several different Pokemon, increasing the prices of Diglett, Dunsparce, Meditite, and Yungoos among others. 7km Eggs will also give players the chance to hatch some particularly notable Pokemon from throughout the game's history, with some pseudo-legendaries such as Larvitar, Bagon and Deino. Pokémon GOThe event's Into the Depths is scheduled to officially begin on January 27 at 10.00 local time and last until February 1 at 20.00.

Pokémon GOs latest event will offer a plethora of perks for players in addition to its featured Pokémon. Players will be able to benefit from triple the experience from completing Pokémon GOs routes during the event, along with the hatch distance for eggs that are cut in half. Some of the spotlight Pokemon will also see their Shiny Rates increased during the event, especially for Diglett and Yungoos of the revealed creatures. A timed research will be available throughout Into the Depths, giving players two incubators and encounters with Diglett, Yungoos and Glimmet.

Pokemon GO has seen a busy start to 2026

Pokémon GO's Into the Depths joins a busy January schedule for Pokémon GOwhich already runs two versions of one of its most popular events. Pokémon GO ran two different Community Day events throughout January, with a Community Day Classic starring Piplup on January 4th and a Grookey Community Day on January 18th. Pokémon GO has even revealed its next big Shadow Raid Day event on January 24th, with players able to challenge Shadow Raikou for a limited time. Pokémon GOs announcement of Into the Depths also teased more details about the event closer to launch.

While January still has plenty to look forward to Pokémon GO fans, some players are already looking forward to the next month of the game. Leaks from Pokémon GO has already confirmed the featured Pokémon for February's Community Day event, with Vulpix and Alolan Vulpix set to receive their first event. Pokémon is also gearing up for its next big anniversary event to come, with the franchise officially celebrating its 40th anniversary with a lot likely on the way for the game. Pokémon GO fans should have a lot to look forward to from the game in the coming months.
