Woodoa new cozy diorama puzzle game, has released a new trailer during the Nintendo Indie World Showcase on March 3, revealing that it will Switch and Switch 2 this summer. While Woodo had previously been announced, this latest trailer is good news for those on the Switch and its successor console who have been dying for another cozy game to check out.
Despite it only being the beginning of March, Nintendo has already hosted several presentations in 2026. Several Nintendo Directs have been hosted, including one for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream and another for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Additionally, a February 5th Partner Showcase featured third-party titles coming to the Switch and Switch 2. While many Nintendo fans are still waiting for the next full-fledged Nintendo Direct, they recently got a look at some upcoming indie games thanks to a new Indie World Showcase.
New Switch 2 4 Player Co-Op Game Revealed
The recent Nintendo Indie World Showcase was packed with exciting announcements, including a long-awaited co-op sequel headed to Switch 2.
Woodo releases this summer
During the presentation on March 3, players were treated to a new trailer for Woodo and learned that the title would be coming to Switch and Switch 2 in the summer of 2026. In the trailer, developer Tiny Monks Tales shared a closer look at the charming game. As the name suggests, players must assemble wooden dioramas as they progress through a story with Foxy and Ben the Frog. These main characters, along with the other animals seen in the dioramas, have adorable designs that could be right up the alley of some cozy gamers.

Like a puzzle game, players are tasked with placing wooden objects into scenes to complete them. The dioramas in Woodo are placed in a 3D space, meaning the camera can be moved to get a better idea of where each object should go. Once placed, each piece has an animation that helps keep scenes dynamic. Additionally, the game features narration to “keep you company” while you play. It's worth noting that the Switch 2 version of the game will be compatible with the console's Joy-Con 2 mouse controllers, potentially increasing the satisfaction of placing items.
In addition to Nintendo consoles, Woodo will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC via Steam. As for PC, players can already try out the game thanks to a Steam demo. With multiple dioramas, it should help players decide if the game is right for them.
Several games were released in the shadow of the Nintendo Indie World Showcase
While players will have to wait a few more months before they can play the full version of WoodoNintendo fans have other indie options in the meantime. During the Indie World Showcase, many games were announced for the platform, with some already available. In particular, Blue Prince was shadowed for Switch 2 after the presentation. The first-person puzzle game was one of the top-rated games last year and was in the running for both Best Independent Game and Best Indie Debut Game at The Game Awards 2025. Additionally, Rotwood and MiniShoot' Adventures Shadow was released after the event, the former being for the Switch 2 and the latter available on the Switch as well.
Although first-party support for the original Switch is slowing down, indie developers continue to offer new experiences for gamers. Switch 2 has sold over 17.37 million, but many gamers have yet to take the plunge. Hopefully, Woodo will deliver for cozy gaming enthusiasts on both the original Switch and its more powerful successor when it arrives later this year.
