Steam has 11 major games releasing in April 2026
Steam users have several major game releases to look forward to in April 2026, including both indie and AAA titles across a variety of genres.
In RoadOut, the main goal is to survive a harsh new world
Cyberpunk 2077's Night City is an unforgiving and overcrowded metropolis that demands everything from its citizens. RoadOut notes this unforgiving world, but it puts the spotlight on an untamed vast wasteland instead of a dense city. The setting and emphasis on cars makes it feel very much like a mix of both Cyberpunk 2077 and Mad Max.

Essentially, RoadOut puts players in Nomad's shoes. Cyberpunk 2077s lifeways all have their own fascinating backstories, but nomads are some of the most compelling. Their refusal to live in the power-hungry chaos of Night City separates them from the Street Kids and Corpos, and RoadOut brings his own take on this faction to life in an exciting new way.
RoadOut features three warring factions: WasteHeads, SaibaKuran, and Order of the New Code.
Welcome to the dead zone
This murderous wasteland is called the Dead Zone. Players take on the role of a protagonist named Claire who will do whatever it takes to survive. A mysterious disaster destroyed society, resulting in a powerful AI taking over the world. This left the survivors with no choice but to drive around aimlessly to the next job. Black market contracting and murder are all Claire can do to make ends meet, and it's an ethical dilemma that Cyberpunk 2077 players will instantly recognize. Cyberpunk 2077's V is constantly faced with questionable decisions.
Explore as you wish
Whether by car or on foot, RoadOut allowing players to explore the dangers of the dead zone as they see fit. The mark of any good post-apocalyptic RPG is a world worth exploring, and RoadOut's Dead Zone definitely has the ingredients to tick that box. Traveling on foot is a great option for slower explorations, but tearing up the gravel and sand in Claire's powerful car is what swings RoadOut to a convincing dystopian road trip. One of the most exciting parts about RoadOuts exploration, however, is that it provides a touch of The Legend of Zelda with some great dungeons to stumble upon.
The Legend of Zelda has some of the best dungeons in gaming, and RoadOut is directly inspired by this. It even says so on the game's Steam page. These various dungeons are filled with puzzles that Claire must solve in order to receive rewards that will help her survive the Dead Zone one more day. There are many good puzzle games on Steam, and RoadOuts interesting environment definitely has what it takes to be a new version of this feature. Cyberpunk 2077 has hacking puzzles, but it's not a particularly puzzle-heavy game. Stardew Valley however, fans may get a bigger kick out of this feature. Although first a farming simulator, Stardew Valley has a decent number of good puzzles that make exploring its world that much more rewarding. Each puzzle is a good incentive to keep looking in every corner of the game's world, and RoadOut aims to take this type of game to heart.
Factions, cybernetic body mods and desert races all wrapped up in one wild post-apocalyptic package
Cyberpunk 2077s body mods are a huge part of its world, and a tech-focused post-apocalyptic story wouldn't be complete without them. Cyberware doesn't just look cool. It's a statement and a status symbol in these kinds of societies. RoadOut allows players to modify Claire's body, weapons, drugs and even her car to take on the dead zone's unforgiving weather. Any kind of enhancement quickly becomes body armor, and there are tons of possibilities for players to explore when it comes to customizing Claire.
Races are one of RoadOut's main highlights
RoadOut takes a big page out Mad Maxs book when it comes to the emphasis on intense road races. The Mad Max films have been hugely influential on dystopian narratives, and Cyberpunk 2077Nomads definitely have their own touch to it. Cars are important in Cyberpunk 2077but RoadOut trying to make them as big a main character as Claire is. The game features 10 unique tracks that take place in a variety of biomes. Whether you're interested in derby races or car-filled battle arenas, RoadOut have it. Upgrading Claire as a character will certainly be a lot of fun, but the real excitement will likely come from the many different ways players can make their cars as powerful as possible. In a wild wasteland, a car is both essential for passage and survival. It doubles as a weapon, so Claire will be able to do some serious damage with the right upgrades and gear.
Cyberpunk 2077 and Stardew Valley may differ greatly, but they are some of the most popular games of the last decade. So it only makes sense RoadOut chose to bring the two together. The game won't be out until May 14th, but anyone interested in such a fun combo can try out a demo on RoadOutsteam page.
