Manga Plus' 2025 highlights have just been revealed, and the most read chapter wasn't actually from One Piece. As it turns out, the most read chapter on Manga Plus for 2025 comes from a brand new manga, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.
Modulo has huge hype, especially as it marked Gege's return to manga after the end of JJK. Fans were clearly very excited to see what Gege had to deliver, and it's safe to say they weren't disappointed at all. The debut of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo was so incredible that it left even One Piece in the dust. Fans all over the world got to read and discuss this monumental chapter, and it was clearly an incredible experience.

One Piece being beaten by the return of a major manga isn't the most surprising news. But the losses don't end there for the franchise. One Piece was, for the second year in a row, beaten by Chainsaw Man. Chainsaw Man's Chapter 167 was the most read chapter in 2024, and in 2025 it managed to produce the second most read chapter on Manga Plus.
Chainsaw Man chapter 198 beat One Piece 2925, while the latter finished third with chapter 1161. This is still impressive from One Piece, but fans expected more from the God Valley chapters in terms of ranking.
Top 10 includes Dandadan, Boruto and Dragon Ball Super
The top three in 2025 were Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, Chainsaw Man and One Piece. A few other series also performed quite well on Manga Plus. The rest of the top 10 most read chapters on Manga Plus include many fan favorite series. Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 21 was number 4, and after that Dandadan Chapter 181 was number 5.
Dragon Ball Super chapter 104 was the 6th, and Kaiju Number 8's final chapter was the 7th. Black Clover chapter 379 was 8th, while Spy x Family chapter 120 was 9th, and finally the 10th most read chapter of the year was chapter 1 of Otr of the Flame.

JJK Modulo is the best new manga of 2025
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo had a very impressive year considering it had the most read chapter worldwide on Manga Plus. However, it managed to achieve much more than just that. The series was also recognized as the biggest new series on the platform overall.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo had some competition from the likes of Otr of the Flame and Metaphor: ReFantazio, but it still ended up dominating.

Yuji had crazy potential, but these new characters from JJK Modulo might have even more.
Of course, it is difficult to deny that reason Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has been so popular thanks to its predecessor, Jujutsu Kaisen. Jujutsu Kaisen left a great legacy, and fans of the series would get on board with any new project from Gege Akutami.

That said, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has its own hype. The story focuses on new characters and doesn't rely on old characters returning to have an interesting story. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo stands strong as its own series as well. In fact, the series doesn't even need old characters, and that shows how strong Gege is as a writer.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is a hit, but it will run out soon
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has proven insanely popular. Fans expect nothing less from the sequel to the story that was Shonen Jump's biggest manga series last year.
However, while Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is loved globally, it will run out soon. This is no news to the fans. When it was first announced, Gege made it clear that the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo would be a short run. Fans were definitely hoping he would change his mind, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
It has become very apparent that Modulo is nearing its end. The final battles between Modulo, Yuka vs Dabura, and Tsurugi vs Maru, have already started. The only thing left right now is Yuji's return to take on Dabura. At most the series has 10 to 15 more chapters in stock, possibly even less.
At the very least, Jujutsu Kaisen fans hope Gege has more in store for the franchise, even after Modulo's end. A huge time gap has been left unexplored between Jujutsu Kaisen and Jujutsu Kaisen Moduloand that's what fans think Gege will dive into next. This is an exciting idea, but it remains to be seen if it will actually happen, or if Modulo is the end of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Jujutsu Kaisen's sequel, called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, is featured in Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. The series is set 68 years into the future, after the events of the Shinjuku Showdown. The main characters of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo are Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, grandchildren of Yuta and Maki. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 17 will be released on January 4, 2026.
