But one thing that has always been clear is that Natsu and Lucy care about each other, even though they are not yet in a relationship, while many of their friends have committed to each other.

Lucy has always been grateful to Natsu, since he was the one who invited her to Fairy Tailthe wizarding guild Lucy has always wanted to join. As a result, Natsu is an integral part of her development as a mage and who she wants to be as a person, even if he annoys her at times.

The two share several risky moments throughout the anime, with moments of undress or Natsu entering Lucy's room with no regard for her privacy. While Lucy would mock Natsu and Happy for their immaturity, she has never felt threatened by his presence in her private space; she probably felt safer with them there.

Edolas is a parallel world to Earthland, and there is no magic. This world also has counterparts to individuals living on Earthland with different personalities from them. IN Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, Team Natsu, now consisting of Natsu, Lucy, Happy, Erza, Gray, Wendy and Carla, have found their way back to Edolas and met their counterparts who have aged 9 years.

To their shock, they learned that Edo-Natsu and Edo-Lucy had married and had a child named Nasha. Edola's counterparts have shown that even though the two worlds are parallel, the relationships that have yet to form in Earthland have already taken place in Edolas, which is likely due to Earthland's counterparts feeling upset or shy when entering into a relationship.

Edola's counterparts may be a sneak peek into the possible future if Earthland counterparts were to be in a relationship. Although Edo-Lucy, Natsu, Gray and Juvia have already started a family, it highlights what their children would look like in the future, as Earthland Natsu and Gray have already had their fatherly instincts worked up at the sight of their children interacting.

Although no matter where you look, Natsu and Lucy have always been depicted as being in a relationship. In it Fairy Tail: 100 Years QuestTeam Natsu comes across a group of doppelgangers living ordinary lives in a celebrity club called the Fairy Nail. In this guild they meet Nack and Lucia, a star actor and manager similar to them; this is also where they learn that the two have an intimate relationship and that all the “bullying” was just for show.

Lisanna and Natsu had a very close relationship when they were younger; they played together because they were close in age. Natsu found Happy's Egg, and they worked together to raise Happy when he was a kitten. While they were playing house with Happy's Egg, Lisanna was able to tear down the wall that Natsu had built, allowing them to get closer.

At the time, Natsu was distanced from the rest of the guild, and aside from fighting with Gray, he was often alone. Lisanna broke Natsu's habit, allowing him to get closer to the rest of the guild. Unlike the Natsu of today, the Natsu of the past was well aware of relationships and what it meant to take a wife, as he often blushed at Lisanna when she mentioned becoming his wife.

After it was learned that Lisanna had died during a mission, her presumed death shattered the guild, and it was never the same afterwards. After it was discovered that Lisanna was still alive, Natsu and Happy were overjoyed that their old friend was still alive. While Lisanna still had a bit of a crush on Natsu, Natsu was happy that Lisanna was still alive after so many years.
