Added monk met Cipsoft the challenge of balancing injuries and healing in this classic MMORPG.
Classic MMORPG Tibia Has announced the addition of a new class, the monk, after almost 30 years in the industry. Cipsoft dropped a short video that teased TibiaNew summons, followed by a statement from the product manager that provides insight into this unexpected addition to the classic MMORPG.
Tibia is one of the earliest and farthest online MMORPGs that is still active today. Although not as popular as others, Tibia belongs to the list of classic MMOs that still have a significant player base, as World of Warcraft or Runkan. The game focuses on exploration, combat and social interaction, with the difference of not having any level CAP, which means that players can develop indefinitely. When it was released first, Tibia Only presented four classes (called “professions”): Knight, Paladin, Druid and Magician. And since the 1997 edition it had never expanded its class options – until now.

Daily activities and assignments are a staple in many MMORPGs, but not everyone manages to make ground as fun as the following titles.
CIPSoft has released a video for the new class that joins the PC game with free to play Tibia After almost 30 years: the monk. The new class will contain its own combat system together with three different virtues that have active and passive effects. The 34-second video does not reveal much, and only shows the monk's splashing art along with the announcement that it will be coming soon. After the teaser, product manager “Niadus” offered insight into the new notice in a blog post and commented on the challenges represented by this supplement for the studio.
Classic MMORPG Tibia adds new “monk” class after almost 30 years
The main game Change The Monk Introduces is related to its “Harmony” system, which according to Niadus makes it “stand out against the other professions.” The monk has specific attack formulas that are thrown with harmony, which essentially does its game all about strategic handling of harmony to cause injury or healing. Its virtues can increase three different aspects of the monk, and all provide the passive ability to heal either themselves or an ally.
Exec explained that the new calling must be a melee fighter, as Tibia Already have three varied professions. This led to extensive consideration for the character's injuries and healing functions to ensure that it was viable for both group and solo games in this classic MMORPG. When Cipsoft decided this, it considered several classic roles such as Rogue, Bard and Monk, and finally chose it later because it best suited the team's vision.
Niadus explained that adding a new profession to the game felt like an impossible task – too complex and risky – although Cipsoft thought it could revive Tibia“Sense of Discovery.” While TibiA's fans are waiting for the monk, it will be interesting to see how this unexpected addition places the game against other, more popular old school MMORPG.
