Atlus and Studio Zero have announced the guidebook edition of Metaphor: RefantazioWith the new digital package planned to be released in early 2026. Metaphor: Refantazio Was one of the most applauded RPGs 2024, even snagging one of the year's nomination, and the upcoming edition of the title comes full with several extras that can certainly please fans of the fantasy game.
Shipping a million copies on release day and currently has an average score of 93 on OpenCritic, Metaphor: Refantazio managed to become atlus' fastest -selling game at launch at the end of 2024. Baptized “Fantasy Persona“Through large parts of the fan base, the title continues to be praised for its world -building, games and political relevance, with its story that concerns complex themes such as discrimination and racism. Earlier this month, Atlus announced an upcoming Metaphor: Refantazio announcement, although no additional details were provided. Now fans have something to look forward to next year, as a new edition of RPG has been confirmed.
To celebrate the first anniversary of the game, Atlus held a memorial life stream on October 10. During the festivities, the guidebook edition of Metaphor: Refantazio Provided, which will be released in early 2026. This digital package includes the base game, Digital Art Book, Digital Soundtrack, The Essential Digital Strategy Guide and Two DLC Costume Set: The Jouin High School Uniform, inspired by Shin megami tensei 5and Shujin Academy School Uniform set, based on Persona 5. While this new edition is well received by fans, many are frustrated that the latest livestream did not confirm Metaphor: RefantazioRumored Switch 2 port. Several leaks suggested that the title would be announced for Nintendo's new system in July Nintendo Direct, but this was not the case, with Atlus instead confirmed it Persona 3 reload would be on the way to Switch 2 instead.
Given the game's extremely positive reception, it is no surprise that one Metaphor: Refantazio Sequels are currently being considered by atlus. In a survey sent by the developer in August, players were asked if they would be interested in a follow -up of this year's nominated Game of the Year, and the game's director has also said he would like to turn Metaphor: Refantazio into a series of “one day”.
