A producer who worked with the crossover title Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Has revealed a lot of other Crossovers planned before the series ended. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Released in 2019 when a crossover sport was developed and published by Sega and was originally released on the original Nintendo Switch. Based on the 2020 Summer Olympics event, the title Sonic The Hedgehog and Friends from Sega's flagship -ip together with Mario and other characters from Nintendos Super Mario Franchise, and the game also saw an edition in arcades the same year.

Mario and Sonic at Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 have some interesting new ideas that are pulled down by painfully boring play.
After publishing on Twitter, producer Lee Cocker answered a question and asked why the Olympic series contained only Mario & Sonic. Cocker confirmed, “Lots of business / agreement could not be agreed, which was a shame, so it went back to just Mario and Sonic,” but the producer continued to reveal which characters could have been added. A lot of IPs that once was considered to be next Mario & Sonic Crossover is included PokemonThe Dragon ballThe Metal Gear SolidThe Mega manThe Zeldaand Street Tighter. “It was a very big idea that didn't happen. Some characters could only be used for some events,” Cocker concluded. The Mario & Sonic The series was confirmed to be dead back in 2024, when Cocker updated society on the status of crossover.
Despite the plumber and Hedgehog's successful work relationship within the transition, a Sonic Lead recently threw shadow on Mario KartDip back to Nintendo and Sega's old beef. However, fans of crossover believed that adding other IPs would have been very interesting and noted the addition of a Dragon ball Crossover would have presented a Smash Bros.-Styled Olympics.
Although it has been six years ago Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Title, The Sonic and Super Mario Franchise services could meet in the middle again, thanks to the Nintendo Switch 2 launch title. Mario Kart World inadvertently suggested another transition with Sonic Racing: CrossworldsWhich can hypothetically see characters from both IPs meet for the ultimate racing association. Given Nintendo and Sega's competition history in the industry, a future transition between racers would be a chance to delight both fandoms.
