Marvel's Wolverine is positioned to be one of PlayStation's biggest releases of the year, after Insomniac found success with its previous one Marvel's Spider-Man game. Now the iconic X-Men mutant Logan is set to star in a visceral action game that boasts battles against foes like Omega Red and Mystique, and locations like the Canadian wilderness and Madripoor. Recent tease also suggests Marvel's Wolverine may even include appearances from other Marvel heroes like Daredevil, She-Hulk and Jean Grey.
Why you should replay Marvel's Spider-Man game in 2026
While Marvel's Spider-Man 3 hasn't even been revealed yet, there are some other notable reasons to replay the series this year.

According to the listing for Marvel's Wolverine available on the Latin American PlayStation Store, the game is scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2026. This differs from the North American PlayStation Store, which still lists Marvel's Wolverine which will arrive in the fall of 2026. While it may appear that these two release windows are functionally similar, the overlap of the two may further limit the game's release date.
Q3 includes the months of July to September, which means that Marvel's Wolverine will be released within one of these months if the information on the Latin American PlayStation Store is correct. Given the announced Fall 2026 launch window, September is the only month that falls within both Q3 and Fall 2026. As such, it seems likely that Marvel's Wolverine will be released in September 2026, assuming the game is not delayed until 2027.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales was a PS5 launch title, so it makes sense that it was released later than the others. With few powerful PlayStation exclusive games scheduled for release in 2026, outside of Housemarques Saros in April, the rest of the year would be open for Sony to launch Marvel's Wolverine.
The most important factor to consider with any 2026 game releasing this fall is its proximity to the blockbuster Grand Theft Auto 6which is currently scheduled to launch on November 19. With how much hype GTA 6 has behind it, other game publishers will likely distance their releases from Rockstar's upcoming title. As such, it would make more sense for Marvel's Wolverine to release on the earlier side of its Fall 2026 window than the latter, which also lines up with the recently leaked Q3 window to leave September as the most likely month it will launch.

The former is an asymmetrical multiplayer horror game based on the iconic film series, while the latter is a stylish action RPG set in feudal Japan. Neither of these games have much overlap with Marvel's Wolverine genre, so it would be much safer for Insomniac and Sony to release it alongside September's line-up than risk being overshadowed by GTA 6 in November.
