Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PC Review

With the 2023 Marvel's Spider-Man 2Insomniac Games delivered another PUL-pound superhero adventure, one that was based on the foundation laid by the beloved 2018 game and took everything to the next level. Marvel's sPider-Man 2 Gave players the chance to live out their web swinging fantasies as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, all while struggling with iconic Supervillains as the requirements The Hunter, Venom and various other villains from Spider-Man's Rogues Gallery. Spider-Man 2 Is still one of the best superhero games you can play, but it is best to stick to the PS5 version over the PC port at the moment.

Sony's Playstation for PC ports has mostly been solid. The war god Ragnarok made an almost perfect transition to PC, which made Ghost of Tsushima. Unfortunately there have also been some Playstation PC ports that have missed the brand, as The last of us part 1. The last of us part 1 Had all kinds of technical problems when it was first launched for PC, and now Spider-Man 2 have followed in their footsteps.

Despite Spider-Man 2Relatively forgiving system requirements, the game seems to be seriously fighting for PC. I have experienced several crashes when I played the game, with the first coming right after the first cuts and before any game. Later, crashes usually occurred in the midst of fights. In a particularly annoying case, the game crashed and even though I completely turned it off, the sound of my computer speakers succeeded until I restored my computer. The good news is Spider-Man 2 Autosaver is constantly so while the crashes are frustrating, players can usually start right where they left after starting the game again.

Spider-Man 2 is an explosion when it works

Spider-Man 2 At PC has already been given updates intended to deal with some of their more serious technical problems, but I still experience crashes. And I'm not the only one. All kinds of PC players with all kinds of rigs have reported crashing problems with Marvel's Spider-Man 2So it is clear that more work must be done to make the game more stable. When these updates come through, Spider-Man 2 Should be an excellent new addition to Sony's range of PC games, as the core experience is still lots of fun when it works.

Spider-Man 2 Has an engaging superhero history full of turns, brand new symbiocrodes to master like Peter Parker and lots of incredible fights. It all happens in a wonderfully made open world New York City which, despite the odd graphic hick and haircut here and there, looks just as good if not better at PC as on PS5. The animations are flexible, the battle is fast and exciting, and the web swinging exploration is first class. Spider-Man 2 Is a fantastic game that is usually difficult to find wrong with, so it's a shame that the PC version has such serious problems at launch.

I tested Spider-Man 2 on PC with a Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080, 3.70 GHz AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-core processor and 32.0 GB RAM.

In spite of their problems at launch, PC port of Spider-Man 2 Has a big upside for players on the platform. From Spider-Man 2Sony has decided to abolish the controversial PSN account requirement with some of its games on PC. Those who want to unlock Spider-Man 2Trophies and enjoy the various other benefits that come with the Playstation translation will still log in, but it is no longer forced. To encourage PC players to log in to a PSN account, Sony offers bonus incentives in their PC ports, with Spider-Man 2 Letting players unlock Spider-Man 2099 Black Suit and Miles Morales 2099 suit early.

Often, a sales point for a Playstation PC port is that they collect the base game with DLC in a single, convenient package. Spider-Man 2 Had no history DLC, but Insomniac adds new suits to the game through free content updates. As expected, PC players have the chance to unlock these suits after launch in their version of the game, which means they technically have a more “complete” version of Spider-Man 2 At the launch than PS5, players made. There are no plans for Spider-Man 2 To get any significant DLC, so Spider-Man 2 At PC can be regarded as the full experience.

Spider-Man 2 is best played with a controller

PC players will still want to be careful about picking up the game right now because of the crash and various other technical problems, but when they dive in, they will make sure they have a checks on hand. Eventually, Spider-Man 2The PC port will be fixed to the point that it will compete or undoubtedly exceed the PS5 version, especially for those with more powerful rigs who can push the game to its graphic and performance limits. At launch, though Spider-Man 2 At PC falls well below expectations. The nuclear game is still an explosion, and it is still one of the best superhero adventures in games, but the crashes are too problematic to ignore.
