Mojang has revealed that Minecraft Live will take place on March 21st, which gives Minecraft fans have a lot to look forward to. The development team already has a lot planned for 2026, and this upcoming presentation may reveal even more content for Minecraft.
Although the format has changed over the years, Mojang has traditionally held events to reveal major announcements for Minecraft. The developer began by hosting an annual in-person convention known as Minecon. But things then shifted to an online setting, with the first Minecraft Live happening in 2020. The format changed again in 2025 when Mojang began hosting two Minecraft Live presentations each year, one in the spring and one in the fall. For context, the most recent presentation took place on September 27, 2025, and provides a look at features for both The Copper Age and Mounts of Mayhem.

Minecraft Live is coming on March 21st
With 2026 now well underway, Mojang has announced that its next Minecraft Live presentation will take place on March 21st at 1pm EDT. A trailer for the presentation was revealed, which featured some of the new versions of baby mobs that are coming Minecraft. Additionally, the developer noted that fans would get a look at upcoming gameplay drops during the event, along with behind-the-scenes content, guest appearances, and more “exciting stuff.” For those who want to listen, the presentation will be available on the game's official YouTube and Twitch channels, along with Minecraft.net.

What will be shown at the first Minecraft Live 2026?
It remains to be seen what specifically will be showcased at Minecraft Live on March 21, but fans should get their first look at the second game release for 2026. Additionally, Mojang will likely reveal the release date for the Tiny Takeover game. If things go similarly to the 2025 edition of Minecraft Live, this first major update of the year could be released very shortly after the event, possibly before the end of March. It will be interesting to know who the “amazing guests” will be as well.
Given the impending release, players are likely to get a thorough look at the content coming in Tiny Takeover. Since announcing the game's release in January, many of its features have been available for testing via Java snapshots and Bedrock betas/previews. As the name suggests, the game introduces many new versions of existing baby mobs, giving the Overworld a cuter look. The developer also adds the golden dandelion Minecraft. This artifact gives players the power to keep baby mobs from aging.
As one of the most popular video games in the world, it will be interesting to see how Mojang looks to continue Minecrafts momentum in 2026. By comparison, 2025 was a stacked year for the open-world survival game. Especially, A Minecraft movie was released on April 4 and grossed nearly $1 billion. Additionally, four game drops were rolled out during the year, adding a bunch of new content Minecraftfor example, the happy ghost and the copper golems. The game also received the Vibrant Visuals update in June 2025, which overhauled the graphics on Bedrock, with the improvements coming to Java in the future.
Hopefully, Minecraft Live 2026 will be able to satisfy both new and longtime fans of the game. While Mojang releases occasional development update videos throughout the year, the bi-annual presentations are obviously a big deal for the community. Many are hoping for some new and meaningful features to be revealed that could help keep the experience fresh in 2026 and beyond.
