You will have the chance to play Bungie's Marathon Games this month
Some happy fans will be able to play Bungie's extraction shooter Marathon Way early, with the permission of a recently announced playtest that is rapidly approaching.
During an interview with PC Gamer after the disclosure, Marathon Game director Joe Ziegler confirmed that Bungie is still trying to find a solution to potential toxicity and will not have a closet function. Ziegler admitted the difficulties of moderating the player's toxicity and that he does not think that “someone really has a good solution to it yet.” Closeness to a common feature for games that FortniteAllows players to communicate with each other when they are nearby, but the balancing is that players cannot control what they hear from others, whether it is good -natured or otherwise.
Marathon will not have closet function initially
Ziegler confirmed that Bungie is not against the experience of closeness, even though the studio has not found any solution to fight toxicity yet. So even if it is possible that the feature is added on the road, potentially in the past if players become sufficiently tuned once Marathon Launch in September Bungie does not seem to be willing to add it just to add it until it comes with a viable solution to create a safe environment for all players.
“I don't think anyone really has a good solution to it yet. Because we are so devoted to make sure we create a safe space where we do not have players who just flare each other or make terrible things to each other, I think we are not ready to invest in prox chat until we have a solution.”
While Bungie does not completely close the door to eventually add a closet -like function when it calculates a solution to the toxicity issue, the news still seems to be mixed with society. Other extraction shooters seem to have worked around toxicity by adding the ability to manually turn off the function completely, which means that players can only get involved if they want to. It is clear that the closet in play as Hunt showdownThe Call of Duty: Warzoneand Dayz Improves the shooting experience for many, so there is hope from fans that Bungie will eventually be able to implement some form for Marathon.
