Joshua Robertson is the news editor for TheGamer. When he's not writing breaking news, community stories, or covering industry events, you can find him begging FromSoftware for a Bloodborne remaster.
Lords of the Fallen 2 developer CI Games has definitely had some gripes in the past that have proven controversial on social media. Back in January, global marketing director Ryan Hill claimed the game wouldn't “embed social or political agendas” into its story, claiming it would affect sales, while the studio was also recently bullied online for claiming it was “carrying the torch” for soul-like. To put it simply, it is not alien to react.
It's possible that this rumor has allowed others at CI Games to speak out about “political agendas” and the like, as CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski has now joined Hill in claiming that Lords of the Fallen will not be “politically correct”, and that the reason the first game had a “Body Type A/B” option was because “political correctness and filtering meant that not all decisions reached me in time.”
Lords Of The Fallen 2 Dev Promises Game Will Have “Attractive Female Characters”
Tyminski says that since becoming Head of Studio alongside his role as CEO, things are very different, saying that since 2020 CI Games has “has recovered many erroneous decisions and will continue to improve.”
Lords Of The Fallen Dev is wrong about politics, and Elden Ring proves it
FromSoftware's most successful game is also its queerest.
I guess to somehow prove this, Tyminski starts responding to fans of the studio during his tweet and first says that a fan was “correct” to say that “a game is meant to be fun… not politically correct.” Elsewhere, he appears to confirm that Lords of the Fallen 2 will feature “attractive female characters” complete with “revealing clothing and armor.” He doesn't mention if these characters will be NPCs or the player themselves, but they will be there anyway. In any case, right now, we're still waiting for an actual release date for Lords of the Fallen 2, which showed up at The Game Awards with an edited gameplay trailer. It's still penciled in for 2026 at the moment, though it doesn't look like a specific release date is close to dropping at the moment.
