Jujutsu Kaisen's Final Arc still haunts some fans to this day. While the vast majority of what fans witnessed in history's end arc was absolutely fantastic, there were moments when it almost felt like actions were too forced to get the act to move in a certain direction. This is one of the biggest reasons why the fantastic battle between Gojo Satoru and Sukuna caused so much controversy.

Gojo and sukuna finally fought in JJK Shinjuku, and it was here that the battle of the strongest would finally settled. Of course, it ended with the victory by Ryomen Sukuna, which was expected, given that he had not yet fought against Yuji at that point. Anyway, the fans were upset over the way of Gojo's defeat, and Gege's latest comments only make things worse because it has finally been confirmed that GOJO was really Nerfed in the battle.
How Gojo lost to Sukuna in Shinjuku

Sukuna surprised Gojo
Gojo vs Sukuna started just as the fans expected. It was a phenomenal battle that was largely even right from the start. While there were a few moments where Sukuna was top notch, there were also many moments where Gojo was superior in the battle. This struggle continued to go back and forth and the fans were always on the edge of their places. This battle was iconic and it continued to redefine what fights should be. Until today, the effects of this amazing struggle can feel, and it just shows how amazing it really was. At the end of that, however, the fans saw Sukuna take the victory when using Mahoraga to expand the range of his technology and cut through Gojo's unlimited and kill him. That's how the battle ended and Sukuna was declared as the winner.
Farewell, gojo sorhu! I will never forget you as long as I live! – Ryomen Sukuna
But it is precisely this moment that the fans are taking problems with. GOJO, as he was, should never have been surprised at that time. Based on the same logic that Gege established in his story, Gojo should have been at the top of his game and won the battle. But that didn't happen. Gege's latest words just throw more fuel at the fire.
Gege confirmed Nerf Gojo during the Sukuna Struggle
Gojo just lost because he dropped his guard down
Gege Akutami has now confirmed to the fans that the biggest reason for Gojo lost their own fault. In his latest Q&A event, Gege confirmed that the biggest reason GOJO lost was because he lowered his guard against the king of curses. This was what Gege had to say:
After defeating Mahoraga, Gojo believed that Sukuna had no way to circumvent his infinity anymore. I think the usual gojo would have felt that something was wrong and could have avoided a deadly wound. – Gege Acutami

Gege reveals what he had originally planned for Gojo Satoru, his most popular character in JJK.
This has rightly upset many fans, especially because this basically confirms that Gojo could have and should have won the battle. But some fans are quick to assume that it was only natural for gojo to be surprising, when that is not the case. Gege intentionally held gojo back and normally he should have seen the attack come.
For one, just before Gojo died, he saw Mahoraga Pierce through his infinity with disassembly by increasing the range of his slash. This is what Sukuna was waiting for. Gojo was already hit by this technology at that time, so falling to it twice was quite bizarre. But even more important, gojo should have easily been able to feel that the world shared disassembly is coming. Firstly, gojo is a superhuman, and just as Maki could avoid Sukuna's slash, he should have been able to know them too, even if not at the same level as Maki. Secondly, gojo should also be able to easily see it.
Gojo has the six eyes. He can see damned technology activation, release and virtually everything at the smallest level. For him not to see Sukuna activate a technology and launch it, even with a binding promise, is impossible. To make things even crazier, Gojo had hit four black flashes at this time. As stated by Gege himself, this should have increased his concentration even more, not reduced it. Gojo was in the zone, moments away from victory, and above all could easily have seen the attack. The only reason he lost was because Gege had to kill him and so he Nerfed Gojo. In a fair battle, Gojo should have won.
