Kishimoto reveals the official replacement for Naruto Uzumaki

Naruto Uzumaki is quite easily one of the most popular characters not only in his own series, but in anime as a whole. Fans know Naruto is an incredibly powerful individualbut more than that, someone who represents the ideal of never giving up and one who defies all odds. It is these qualities of Naruto Uzumaki that make him as popular as he is today. Unfortunately, the Boruto the series hasn't been as kind to Naruto Uzumaki as it could have been, and that's a real shame.

The series, focused on his son, Boruto Uzumaki, has seen to that Naruto Uzumaki is officially removed from the plot and completely incapable. Right now, Naruto Uzumaki is contained Borutoand the village he is supposed to protect is there without a proper protector. That said, Kishimoto and Ikemoto haven't completely left Konoha without a hero. The fans know that very well Konoha already has a new Naruto Uzumaki replacementalbeit one that isn't nearly half as impressive or iconic as him. Konoha's new acting Hokage is none other than Shikamaru Naraand he has officially replaced Naruto after Omnipotence finally took effect.

When the first part of Boruto series officially ended, fans were eagerly waiting to see who the next Hokage of the village would be. Most fans were hoping for Sasuke Uchiha or Sakura Haruno to have taken this position officially.

For the former, it would have been difficult since he left the village with Boruto, but the latter would have been the perfect replacement for Naruto Uzumaki until he returned. Much to the surprise of fans, Naruto Uzumaki's official replacement was none other than Shikamaru Narahis best advisor.

Fans know that Shikamaru is very smart, and it goes without saying that there is probably no better advisor in Konoha than him. Unfortunately, he is far from a good leader or a strong one. Overall, he's not a good replacement for Naruto and he definitely won't last long either. Shikamaru faces the wrath of the village elders for siding with Boruto Uzumaki, and it looks like he won't be holding onto the Hokage seat for long.

While Shikamaru Nara is the acting Hokage of Konohafans know very well that in the long run, the real replacement for Naruto Uzumaki is none other than Sarada Uchiha. Like Naruto, Sarada has the goal of becoming Hokage, and she wants to go straight to the top. Her recent awakening of the Mangekyo Sharingan brought her closer to her goal of becoming Hokage, but it is still too early for her to assume this position. In the next few years, Sarada Uchiha will surely have matured enough to be good enough to take on this position. Perhaps, Konoha will have its youngest Hokage in Sarada Uchiha in the coming years.

I realize that Boruto started out as a sequel to Naruto, but due to Naruto's massive presence, it's been a pretty tough road to travel. Boruto has finally emerged as a true protagonist in his own right. But will he be a hero on par with his father? Or maybe even surpass him?
