When a Nintendo Direct is on us, you can bet that social media will be full of speculation about which games will appear. But it sounds like even the developers of the games themselves don't know what will do it until the day of direct, as there may be more changes at the last minute than we expected.
This is, according to the editor -in -chief of the gaming industry, Christopher Dring, who says he was aware of three games that should have made it the latest Nintendo Direct, but not. He says he got his information from the developers of the games, so if his sources are correct, it sounds as if Nintendo is not afraid to move with the running order just before the show.

Dring does not tell you what games were changed around, but it sounds like devs was probably in too little disappointment, because they were apparently very sure that their work would do the average. Given that this was a third party directly, there is nothing to say what these titles could have been.
This is meaningful in an incredibly Volitile industry, where games can be delayed or interrupted, and studios can meet job losses and even closures. Recently, Marathon was delayed, which probably meant that Sony had to find something else to put in its latest game status or trim down the driving time. This would be very true for Partner Direct, as Nintendo does not monitor the development of these titles.
In any case, this gives us a brief look behind the curtain when it comes to Nintendo leads. All the big players have their exhibitions down to a formula now, but of course they cannot account for all opportunities.
That being said, many were disappointed by the latest Nintendo Direct. As soon as it ended, the fans took to social media to complain about the lack of big and exciting ports and speculated that many studios play Catch-up with Switch 2, rather than having something ready for their launch period. And of course it is only common now for hollow knight fans to go into grief when another showcase passes without a silksong trailer. At least we know that it will be played at Gamescom this year.
