Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 officially announces a major delay

With the winter 2026 anime season starting, it's safe to say Jujutsu Kaisen is the hottest series right now, thanks to the launch of its third season. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is proving to be quite an exciting ride so far, and has begun the highly anticipated Culling Game arc. Although still in the early stages, the Culling Game arc has been filled with battles and exciting new characters.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of more JJK episodes, but unfortunately, this exciting new season release will take a short break on February 19 between JJK Season 3 Episode 7 and Episode 8. Instead, the studio has other plans for the week between the two releases.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 began airing on January 8, 2026. After an excruciatingly long wait, fans eagerly awaited the new anime season to finally begin, and it certainly delivered. It's no surprise to know that Culling Game has started very strong, and with each passing episode the story has only gotten better, with many new and exciting characters making their entrance.

Unfortunately, fans will have to say goodbye to their favorite Winter 2026 anime for one week. Really, on February 19, 2026, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will go on a big hiatus. Originally, February 19 was supposed to be the air date of JJK Season 3 Episode 8. Since no new episode will be aired that week, the episode has now been pushed back by a week.

“It's not just Kugisaki, Nanami is dead too. Sukuna killed so many people, but I couldn't do anything. I'm nothing but a killer. What I thought was my belief was just an excuse and I can't forgive myself.” — Yuji Itadori

Although Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 8 will not air on February 19, fans will still get their weekly fix of this brilliant story. It has been officially announced a recap episode will air on February 19 to keep fans interested in the Culling Game arc at the absolute highest level possible.

The content of this recap episode is not clear at this point, but it is very likely that it will cover the events of the first 7 episodes of the third season. Or this recap section could also go on to explain some past events from previous seasons that are relevant now in the story.

With a recap episode airing on February 19, 2026, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will try to pick up again next week. As such, the series will continue to air new weekly episodes as usual next week.

JJK Season 3 Episode 8 is released on Thursday, February 26, 2026. The upcoming recap episode is a unique break that will not be repeated again in the first part of JJK Season 3. The anime will not make any more such breaks this year, which means that what comes next will be full of action, especially considering the fact that the real battles of the Culling Game will soon begin.

What will happen in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 8?

The debut of a new wizard will be shown

Naturally, fans are disappointed with Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 8's delay, and that's because a fan-favorite character's proper introduction will be presented at this point in the story. Considering this week's episode is titled “Tokyo No.1 Colony Part-1,” JJK Season 3 Episode 8 will most likely be “Tokyo No.1 Colony Part-2.” With that in mind, manga fans are expecting the debut of the brilliant newly awakened wizard Hiromi Higuruma in this episode. Among manga fans, Higuruma has become a popular character due to his strong sense of justice and his amazing Cursed technique and Domain Expansion. Higuruma is one of the sorcerers awakened in the Culling Game, and his Cursed technique allows him to bring down justice through Deadly Sentencing, which is quite overpowered.

This ability can take down anyone but the strongest in the JJK world, and that's what makes this upcoming episode so highly anticipated among fans. As such, a break right now feels like a blow. Fans also can't wait to see Higuruma's backstory brought to life. He is definitely one of the best characters introduced in this Culling Game, and he will play a big role in the rest of the JJK story.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Cour 1 is coming to an end

JJK Season 3 Part 2 has no release date yet

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 8 Delay

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is expected to have a total of 25 episodes. But as has become the norm recently, fans won't be able to watch all of these episodes at once.

“I'll accept it, Mahito. I'm you. I wanted to reject you. I wanted to pretend I didn't understand what you said.” — Yuji Itadori

Instead, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will be spread over two tracks. The first cour is currently airing and has a total of 6 episodes so far. Overall, JJK Season 3 Part 1 is expected to have 12 episodes. This means that the halfway point has already been reached, and the first course is coming to an end in about a month and a half. This is definitely disappointing for many fans as there could be a significant wait between JJK Season 3 Cour 1 and Cour 2.

At the moment, the release date of JJK season 3 part 2 has not been revealed. Hopefully, that wait won't be too long and the anime will make a comeback in the summer of 2026. JJK Season 3, Part 2 will be where the most exciting events of the story unfold, including major battles, character deaths, and even the fate of Japan's strongest, Gojo Satoru, who has currently been sealed away. Gojo should open at the end of the second half of JJK Season 3, and it will be amazing to see it brought to life by the studio.
