Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is a sequel to the legendary manga series Jujutsu Kaisen. Set 68 years after the final battle of the Shinjuku Showdown, Modulo follows the story of the grandchildren of Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin. In almost 7 decades the world has of JJK has changed drastically, and the vast majority of JJK's original cast is now most likely deadhowever unfortunate it may be.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Gege has already set up the main character's death
JJK's main character is going to die, and fans are heartbroken.
This shouldn't come as a surprise to fans, given the amount of time that has passed. Now, Gege seems to have practically confirmed Modulo's greatest death in the last chapter. Former protagonist, Megumi Fushiguro is now most definitely dead. Although not explicitly stated, it has been clearly implied through Yuka Okkotsu. Megumi's cursed technique, Ten Shadows, was inherited by Yuka Okkotsuand considering this is a technique that can rival the Limitless and Six Eyes combo, it likely means the previous user is dead. If so, Megumi was the first main character to diebefore he even reached 70.

Jujutsu Kaisen had a beloved lead cast, with the likes of Yuji Itadori, Nobara Kugisaki, Gojo Satoru and Megumi Fushiguro. The main trio consisted of Yuji, Nobara and Megumi, with all three playing a very exciting role in the story.
With Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo after starting, fans were excited to see the status of these beloved characters. Fans saw Yuji, who is immortal and still young, and Nobara, who is an old woman now.
With Yuji and Nobara back, fans expected Megumi to return as well. Unfortunately, it seems Gege had very different plans for him.
Megumi's death has now seemingly been confirmedand if so, he was actually the first character to die among the main cast of Jujutsu Kaisen. Based on the demise of the Ten Shadows, Megumi likely died before he even reached 70, probably around the mid-60s.
Megumi's Ten Shadow Technique has been inherited by Yuka Okkotsu
Megumi's death has yet to be explicitly stated by the author. But the last chapter almost confirms it Megumi's Cursed Technique, Ten Shadows.
As fans know, some cursed techniques are inherited through blood, and Ten Shadows is one of them. It is not necessary for a technology to have only one user. After all, Naobito and Naoya had the same cursed technique at the same time. Gege even said that Limitless could have multiple users as well. Noritoshi Kamo also shared a cursed technique with Choso, who shared it with other death paintings.
However, it makes sense for Ten Shadows to only have one user based on how special it isand how sought after it is within the Zenin Clan.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Gege Akutami kills two major JJK characters in the sequel
JJK just killed off two major characters and fans are shocked.
Most importantly, fans know that the Six Eyes and Limitless combination only appears in one person at a time. But at the same time, the Ten Shadows is a fact match for the Six Eyes + Limitless combo. That it should have multiple users and that multiple people should have Mahoraga at the same time makes no sense at all. absolutely sure, Megumi is either already dead or severely incapacitated.
Based on everything in the story, Megumi must have died in Jujutsu Kaisen before Yuka Okkotsu's birth. Yuka Okkotsu is the current user of Ten Shadows, and she even summoned Mahoraga in the last battle against Dabura.
This also confirms that Megumi died over 16 years agosince he would have had to die before Yuka Okkotsu was born for her to get her technique.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo will feature many more deaths
Megumi's death has definitely hit many fans hard, especially those who were happy to see the old trio back together. Sadly, Megumi is one of many from the old cast to be confirmed dead.
At the beginning of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, Gege killed the best couple of the series – Maki Zenin and Yuta Okkotsu. The two had married, but with Maki's death, Yuta died of heart palpitations.
There is something that Earthling Sorcerers use as a last resort when their lives are at stake. It is called a binding promise. Gege also confirmed Hana's death not too long agowho was set up to marry Megumi. Her death was confirmed via Nobara, who stated that she had last seen Yuji during her funeral.
Megumi and all these other characters will not be the last to die. Most of the old cast can be wiped out before the end, and that includes Yuji Itadori, whose death is already strongly foreshadowed.
Jujutsu Kaisen's sequel, called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, is featured in Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. The series is set 68 years into the future, after the events of the Shinjuku Showdown. The main characters of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo are Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, grandchildren of Yuta and Maki. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 16 will be released on December 21, 2025.
