Joe Jonas seemingly references Sophie Turner divorce: ‘Feeling so miserable’

Joe Jonas seems ready to talk about his divorce from Sophie Turner.

The US musician appears to have referenced his feelings about their split in a teaser clip for new music he shared on TikTok. The lyrics, accompanied by upbeat music, describe people begging him to cheer up.

“Come on, Joe, you have so much more to be grateful for,” he sings.

“Stop being sad ’cause you’re making the room uncomfortable / OK, I understand / I know you feel so miserable / Sometimes I wish I had the power to be invisible,” the lyrics continue.

“Even bad guys get sad and that’s the hardest truth / I called your mom and dad, they don’t know what to do.”

The 32-year-old Jonas Brothers member captioned the clip: “Even bad guys get sad #newmusic.”

Page six did not immediately receive a response from representatives for either star regarding the meaning behind the unreleased song.

Jonas filed for divorce from Turner, 28, in September 2023 after four years of marriage. In his statement, he said their union was “irretrievably broken.”

“There are many speculative narratives as to why, but in reality this is a joint decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our privacy wishes for us and our children,” the couple said in a joint statement at the time.

While Jonas has remained largely hush-hush about their split, he asked fans not to trust any rumors or theories on the matter as he took the stage in Los Angeles with his brothers just days after filing for divorce.

“It’s been a crazy week,” he reflected. “I just want to tell you that if you don’t hear it from these lips, don’t believe it. OK? Thank you all for the love and support of me and my family. I love you guys.”

His and Turner’s divorce was quite complicated from the beginning. About two weeks after news of the breakup emerged, the game of Thrones The star has filed a lawsuit to secure the “immediate return” of their two children to England.

He stated that Burning up The hitmaker had previously agreed in Christmas 2022 that they would make the UK their “forever home” for their family, but was withholding their children’s passports so they couldn’t leave the US.

The couple has daughters Willa, 3, and Delphine, 22 months.

Jonas criticized the lawsuit as an “abuse of the legal system” in a statement to Page six at the moment.

“This is an unfortunate legal disagreement over a marriage that is sadly ending,” he said through his representative. “When language like ‘kidnapping’ is used, it is at best misleading, and at worst constitutes a gross abuse of the legal system.”

In October 2023, they came to a temporary custody agreement, but in March Turner asked a judge to reinvigorate the divorce as they disagreed over child custody and property settlement.

The mother of two opened up about their divorce during an interview with British Vogue earlier this month and admitted she was “dissatisfied” with the way their split was portrayed in the media, particularly in regards to her children.

“They are the victims of all this,” he reflected candidly. “But I think we’re doing the best we can.”

“I’m confident we’ll figure it out. Joe is an amazing father to our children and that’s all I can ask for.

She also said she hopes everyone can reunite as a family for important events after the divorce.

“My dream is to have a great Christmas where my daughters can have their dad there, Joe’s whole side of the family, their grandparents,” she explained.

“I don’t care about politics, I just want the girls to feel loved and for everyone to be there for them.”

Turner has since moved on with real estate entrepreneur Peregrine Pearson, while Jonas is going strong with model Stormi Bree.
