My Hero Academia was one of the best series of 2025. The anime aired its last season, and it definitely brought the series a lot of attention. However, one cannot forget the fantastic manga of My Hero Academia.
My Hero Academia's manga ended in 2024, and yet, even now in 2025, it is one of the best-selling manga series in Japan. Deku's story, which revolves around heroes, ranks 9th in Japan. In total, MHA sold around 2.097 million copies – an impressive number.

Apothecary's Diaries
Apothecary's Diaries is currently one of the most popular series in Japan. It has taken over largely thanks to its incredible anime adaptation. The series follows the story of the main character Maomao. Maomao's story takes place in the Imperial Palace of China where she solves many mysteries. Her slow-burning romance with the empire's secret heir, Jinshi, always draws fans back for more.
The manga for The Apothecary Diaries has made it to the top 8 with 2.252 million total sales. The series will only grow from here on out. Fans can probably expect even higher numbers in 2026 as Season 3 and a brand new movie are on the way.

Sakamoto Days was always a very popular manga series for Weekly Shonen Jump. Recently, it finally got an anime, with Sakamoto, the main character, facing new problems years after retiring from being an assassin.
Sakamoto Day's anime was subpar compared to many other series currently airing, but it still made the manga popular. Sakamoto Days did very well this year and finished as the 7th best selling manga with 2.344 million sales. Unfortunately, the manga is coming to an end soon. This may be the last year Sakamoto Days is in the top 10 manga in terms of sales.

Blue box is one of the most mainstream new manga series right now. Thanks to its new anime adaptation that started in 2024, manga sales have definitely exploded. While most other big hit manga focus on battles, Blue Box is based on the lives of high school athletes.
It's a slower series, with some romance, but that's exactly what makes it special. Blue Box made it the place for the sixth best-selling manga this year, totaling 2.385 million copies in circulation.

Dandadan has solidified its position among the best new manga series quite a while now. It is a story that focuses on the supernatural and aliens. Although it went under the radar of many fans for a few years, anime has exposed the world to it, and it's bigger than ever before. The series officially blew up in 2024.
Dandadan is always among the best-selling manga series in Japan, and this year, it collected around 3.517 million, bringing it to the top three selling manga in Japan. Dandadan will continue strong, especially since more anime content is on the way for the series.

Jujutsu Kaisen
Many fans were surprised to see Jujutsu Kaisena series that ended in 2024, making it so high in manga sales in 2025. Jujutsu Kaisen finished with 3.921 million sales this yearwhich is an insanely impressive number. However, fans should remember that Jujutsu Kaisen's last two volumes dropped in the final days of December 2024, so the sales numbers make sense.
Still, Jujutsu Kaisen came close to being the number one manga in Japan again, but it lost its title this year to another, even bigger series. Fans really can't seem to get enough of this story of wizards and curses.

For many years, One Piece was the number one manga in Japan. However, its streak was beaten by the Demon Slayer. It has since been surpassed by the likes of Jujutsu Kaisen and even Blue Lock. But now, for the first time since 2018, One Piece finally making it back to number one in Japan.
This is huge for One Piece fans and proves how successful the Elbaf arc has been. The Straw Hat Pirates' adventure in the Land of Giants has been a fun ride. One Piece sales have rebounded after a few dipsand the series returns as the undisputed king of manga. One Piece ends in 2025 with approximately 4.211 million sales. With no obvious competition in 2026, One Piece may well remain #1 again for a few years to come.
