The PlayStation Plus games for January 2026 are now available to play. This month's lineup consists of eight titles, plus an iconic PS1 game that expands the exclusive PS Plus Premium Classics catalog.
PS Plus closed out 2025 by adding nine games to its library on December 2. The year-end catalog offered remarkable genre variety, including everything from Assassin's Creed Mirage and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty to LEGO Horizon Adventures and Cat Quest 3. Sony is now aiming to maintain that momentum with a comparable diversity and equal wave of releases in January 2026.

A significant portion of the January 2026 additions to PS Plus fill various horror niches. Apart from Resident Evil VillageSony's subscription catalog now also includes A Quiet Place: The Road Aheadan interactive tie-in to the Scott Beck and Bryan Woods horror series. Like the films that inspired it, this video game adaptation from Italian developer Stormind Games emphasizes stealth, challenging players to survive a harrowing post-apocalypse triggered by an alien invasion. The blind insectoid predators behave unpredictably and are generally difficult to avoid, making The way forward a consistently tense experience. For added immersion and difficulty, the monsters in A quiet place can optionally also respond to sounds picked up through the player's microphone.
For a more subtle yet deeply disturbing experience, the January 2026 PS Plus lineup also includes viral horror title Exit 8. Made by Japanese solo developer Kotake Create, this disorienting game forgoes jump scares in favor of creating anxiety and confusion through an endless Tokyo subway tunnel that shifts subtly as players try to escape. Between its gameplay premise and short playing time, the game delivers something like PT-style psychological stress mixed with liminal horror. Originally released as a timed PC exclusive in November 2023, Exit 8 has been available on PlayStation consoles since August 2024.

Rounding out this month's additions to the PS Plus horror library is Darkest Dungeon 2. The 2023 roguelite isn't a horror game per se, but like its predecessor, it combines a grim gothic setting with Lovecraftian horrors and an incredibly oppressive atmosphere into a memorable experience that's firmly in horror-adjacent territory. Sony's monthly library update also includes Namco's originals Ridge Racer for PS1, joining the exclusive Classics catalog at the premium level. As is tradition, the latest arrivals are accompanied by several removals, with four titles leaving PS Plus as part of the January 20th catalog rotation. The departures include Monopoly Plus, SD Gundam Battle Alliance, Sayonara Wild Heartsand Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.
