Rebel Wolves is a Polish studio founded in 2022 by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, a CD Projekt Red veteran who directed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and worked on the previous two entries in the hit series, in addition to serving as production manager on Cyberpunk 2077among other projects. To him at the company are several others The Witcher veterans, including art director Bartlomiej Gawel, animation director Tamara Zawada and narrative director Jakub Szamalek. Rebel Wolves first game was officially announced as Dawn walker in January 2024.

While many RPGs have been announced for 2025 and beyond, these titles are particularly exciting.
11 months later, publisher Bandai Namco shared a short promo video clarifying that the game's full title will indeed be The Blood of Dawnwalker. The teaser ends with the promise that the upcoming project will be fully revealed during a live streamed event scheduled to start on January 13 at 1:00 PM PT / 4:00 PM ET / 10:00 PM CET. The Blood of Dawnwalker should therefore help Bandai Namco kick off 2025 with a bang, joining a growing list of the Japanese publisher's games slated to be revealed or launched early next year.
As for what exactly fans can expect on January 13th, The Blood of Dawnwalker officially described as a dark fantasy action RPG from ex The Witcher 3 developer. The game is being developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Rebel Wolves is doing so in Unreal Engine 5, and says the game will have a strong story and narrative focus, not unlike CDPR's project. The RPG's original announcement described it as a “narrative sandbox”, albeit without elaborating. It also confirmed that the game will have a triple-A budget. RPG's January 2025 reveal event will be live streamed on The Blood of Dawnwalkers official Twitch channel.

The Blood of Dawnwalker will be a single-player RPG intended to be the first entry in a new dark fantasy series. The few promotional materials that Rebel Wolves has shared so far suggest that the game will be set in a world based on medieval Europe. Werewolves, vampires, or both will seemingly have a place in RPG lore. The recently shared video teaser carries a tagline that says “the world needs what it fears,” suggesting The Blood of Dawnwalker may have some thematic overlap with The Witcher.
According to LinkedIn data, Rebel Wolves currently employs just over 100 people. Even with further growth, this relatively small team (by AAA standards) is probably working on at least a five-year development cycle, which is now the norm in triple-A development. As a result The Blood of Dawnwalker seems unlikely to hit the market until early 2027.
