It's time to welcome the next naval admirals in one piece

This article contains spoilers for the One Piece series.

With ongoing chaos, the One Piece the world is currently in shambles, and it will only become more turbulent as the final saga continues. Every major faction in One Piece is currently making a move, and the world is about to change in ways never seen before. Marines, one of the three great powers of One Pieceare also currently deeply involved in major affairs, and they will also oversee some major changes, especially in their ranks, when a new naval order is established at the end of the story.

While One Piece Admirals have already been changed once during the time jump, it will definitely happen again. Akainu, the current Fleet Admiral, will be replaced by someone new. At the same time, the three admirals under him, Fujitora, Green Bull and Kizaru, must also leave and make way for the new generation of righteous marines, like Koby.

Smokers could become the Navy's next admiral in one piece

The Fleet Admiral is the highest authority within the Marines in One Piece. The previous fleet admiral before the time jump was Sengoku, but during the time jump he retired and in his place, Akainu rose to the position after defeating Kuzan on Punk Hazard.

While Akainu is in power, he will not last long as Fleet Admiral. The Final Saga has already begun, and Akainu definitely has a big role to play. Akainu will surely have a great battle against pirates or the revolution army. Either way, Akainu and his cruel brand of justice will not be welcome in the new world order that will be established after the Great War. Akainu will face retribution at the hands of someone like Luffy or Sabo as revenge for Ace and the other atrocities he has committed. With Akainu dead, a new, actually righteous Marine should take his place. Although many believe it could be Koby, Oda seems to have the spot of future Fleet Admiral reserved for Smoker.

Koby, Prince Grus and Tashigi could be the next admirals

Akainu will not be the only naval admiral to be replaced. The other three admirals, Fujitora, Kizaru, and Green Bull, all have a ticking clock as well. It is unlikely that any of them will survive the final war, or at least retain their admiral position after the final war. Instead, the new generation of marines will take over and ensure that the organization really does good in the world. Aside from Smoker, the only relevant marines in the new generation are none other than KobyTashigi and either Prince Grus or Helmeppo. Although none of them are currently strong enough for the position, they will definitely grow and gain some amazing power-ups in the Final Saga of One Piece.

With the final war already underway, fans are left wondering if the Marines will even survive what's to come, or if the organization could disband like the Shichibukai. The truth is, the marines definitely make it out of the Final Saga. The organization will be reshaped, but it will not disappear. Even with major threats that Imu defeated One Piece the world will not be at peace forever, and small threats will always loom over the common people. Marines will definitely be needed, and with new leadership, perhaps with charters like Dragon and Sabo in their ranks as well. Only then will they actually be able to do good.

Eiichiro Oda's One Piece will be on hiatus next week. One Piece Chapter 1166 is out in two weeks. The official release date of One Piece Chapter 1166 is November 23, 2025. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
