ARC Raiders has proven to be a much more complex game than most fans of extraction shooters have thought, and Expeditions the function is proof of this. In each extraction shooter with one server drying systemplayers will lose their progress, but in ARC Raidersthis happens differently. Players have the option to send their Raider on an expedition and participate in a voluntary wipe to earn more rewards in the next cycle.

How does the expedition project work in ARC Raiders?
Expeditions are a way to preserve player progress throughout ARC Raiders Voluntary droughtwhich is established to occur regularly from launch onwards. Inside the character menu there is a tab called “Projects” which, when opened, reveals a certain label called “Expeditions”.
Inside this menu, players who have reached level 20 will be able to start the expedition project, which consists of building a caravan to go beyond the Rust Belt (the overall playable area around Speranza). This is a simple trip, which means Raiders who go on an expedition never come back (AKA, the character will be forfeited).
But this will simultaneously activate one Older systems which enables players preserve quite a lot the progress when they create a new raider after wiping, earn rewards and buffs in the process. Players are not required to participate in the Voluntary Wipe, but it will be of great benefit to them as they will unlock many rewards detailed below.
ARC Raiders Wipe Cycle & Expedition Rewards Explained
Dry cycles in ARC Raiders happen every 60 dayswith the next wipe is scheduled to run from February 25, 2026 to March 1, 2026. Those players who manage to finish the Expeditions project until the last week before the purge will have one 8-day window to send their Raider on an expedition and keep some of their progress.
For this expedition, the required Stash value for maximum rewards has been lowered to 3 million coins (600k per Skill Point); the reward will still be 5 skill points to reach the value of 3 million Stash. Players embarking on the expedition for the first time will receive the rewards from the first expedition, while returning Raiders will earn more Stash space, Skill Points and cosmetic upgrades. Permanent bonuses earned in previous expeditions carry over even if players choose not to leave again, while buffs stack for consecutive expeditions and reset if players sit out.
Players will observe that a small prompt says: 'The expedition's departure window is now closed' if they cannot go on an expedition, or a prompt saying 'The expedition's departure window is now open' when it's time to go on an expedition.
In addition, players who manage to finish the expedition project and activate it in time will receive some rewards and buffs:
- Increased scratchy material profits
- Increased XP Get
- Increased weapon repair value (+40%/+50% and so on)
- Additional storage space (stacks each expedition)
- Bonus skill points based on the value of the loot in the Stash before departure.

A new Scrappy Outfit per expedition.
Some of these rewards, like buffs for XP and Scrappy, will be the best way to keep progressing on future Wipes, and can be stacked to get big benefits each time players create a new Raider. Successive completions will increase the size of the buffs up to a global cap.
It is also worth noting that there is a Pity-System currently implemented. Players who weren't able to gain extra skill points during the last purgewill be able to achieve extra skill points at a discounted price (1 skill point per 300K) after completing the 3 million deposit fees needed (total credits + Stash value) during the second purge. This is one temporary reward system implemented in the headwind update. Upon departure, coins earned first will be used towards skill points for the second expedition, before contributing to missing skill points from the first.
