After over four years ago the release of New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures' 2021 Deadly Kombat Film, fans will finally see their story followed up in October with the 2025 Mortal Kombat 2. Again directed by Simon McQuoid, 2025's Mortal Kombat 2 Will reportedly focus more on the titular Mortal Kombat Fighting tournament while introducing a string of classic characters to this cinematic universe, including Johnny Cage, Kitana, Quan Chi, and the ruler of Outworld, Shao Kahn. At the same time, the film will continue to follow its original protagonist, Cole Young, as he, Cage and Earthrealms other champions are starting to fight to stop Kahn's invasion. If Mortal Kombat 2 Is well received, Netherrealm Studios should consider implementing Cole Young in the games.

Mortal Kombat 1's rumored history extension may be the best option for a Kombat Pack 3
New rumors of a new story expansion for Mortal Kombat 1 can potentially set the scene for the future of the franchise.
2025 Mortal Kombat 2 Film is different from history presented in 1993's Arcade Cabinet Mortal Kombat 2 and probably the story presented in the inevitable sequel to the 2023 Mortal Kombat 1.
Mortal Kombats Cole Young explained
From the beginning of the 2021 Deadly KombatCole Young's family is forever scars of a predetermined tragedy. In the 17th century, several members of Young's ancestors in the Japanese Shirai Ryu clan were killed by their rival Lin Kuei clan under the leadership of Cryomcer Bi-Han, otherwise known as Sub-Zero. Among Shirai Ryu, who was killed in the attack, included Hanzo Hasashi, his wife Harumi and his son Satoshi. Hanzo Hasashi's currently unknown daughter, however, survived the attack after being hidden by Satoshi and then saved by Thunder God Lord Raiden. About 400 years later, Young would be born as a orphaned American descendant of Hasashi's daughter, although Young originally knew nothing about his Shirai Ryu heritage.
Young grew up to become MMA champion and eventually married a woman named Allison and together the two had a daughter named Emily. One day, Sub-Noll Young and his family attacked in fear that a prophecy such as the blood from Hanzo Hasashi would lead Earthrealm to victory in their tenth tournament of Mortal Kombat soon. Young eventually gets help from Jax Briggs, Sony Blade, Liu Kang, King Lao and Raiden, where he is told that he is intended to fight in Earthrealm's defense in Mortal Kombat and that he is a descendant of Hanzo Hasashi. After returning home to defend his family from Goro, Young was able to unlock his magical Arcana abilities that allowed him to manifest powerful golden armor and ton phase in battle.
Cole Young and Scorpion's battle against Sub-Zero
After Young's defeat of Goro gifted raid MMA fighter a leaf once used by Hasashi. While Earthrealm's chosen defenders tried to defeat the forces of Shang Tsung, attacked and froze Sub-Zero and froze Young's family and raged and cut off Young from its companions. In a now frozen gym, Young tried to fight below zero and was almost defeated until the ancient leaf called Hasashi's spirit, now known as Scorpion, from Netherrealm. Together, Young and Scorpion Allison and Emily freed and then killed sub-zero. Then Raiden Young and his companion sent other champions over Earthrealm, with Young specifically to Hollywood to recruit Johnny Cage and set up the events in the 2025 Mortal Kombat 2.
The potential of Cole Young in LiU Kang's timeline
IN Mortal Kombat 1Titan LiU Kang turns out to have created a whole new universe after claiming control over the hourglass and changing certain events to make it as calm and calm as possible. Here, some small and large differences can be found between this timeline and earlier, such as Scorpion, which is now Kuai Liang, the previous second sub-zero, Raiden which is no longer a God, and Cyrax and sector are both female instead of male. Considering Mortal Kombat 1 Is essentially a restart, not all characters from the series' near 33-year history has appeared in the game, but DLC has introduced brand new warriors who have never seen before in the franchise, for example The ShutterT-1000.
Based on changes and additions, Netherrealm can potentially add Cole Young in the future Mortal Kombat 1 Dlc or in the inevitable game Mortal Kombat 2 After the 2025s Mortal Kombat 2 drop. Young's past and character direction may need to be completely changed, but other classic characters have already received similar treatments in this new timeline. Instead of being a descendant of Scorpion, Young could be depicted as one of Shirai Ryus's latest recruits with teenager Hanzo Hasashi. This can still maintain Young and Hasashi's clan connection but divert the fate of the two fighters in completely different trips invisible in any medium so far. Alternatively, Netherrealm simply could introduce the cinematic young people into the games through a non-canon DLC look similar to how certain versions of Takeda come from alternative timelines in Mortal Kombat 1.
