Battlefield 6 players share their frustrations with one of the game's support challenges, encouraging them to deliberately make life harder for their teammates to complete it. The annoyance stems from the fact that players must block their teammates' vision with smoke grenades to complete this very thing Battlefield 6 challenge.
While some players are still frustrated by these issues with challenges, it hasn't stopped Battlefield 6 from being a great success. Following Battlefield 2042series desperately needed a return to form, and despite the hype, that seems to be exactly what EA and Battlefield Studios have delivered. The game sold millions of copies within days and set up huge players on all platforms.
Battlefield 6 Support challenges force players to make teammates' lives more difficult
On Reddit, user Fehzi noted that “I literally had to mourn my team” to complete the third level of Battlefield 6 Support challenges. The challenge in question tasks players with “getting smoke support as support,” which means teammates get kills through their smoke grenade. While some will naturally get this when playing as support over time, those who want to complete the challenge as quickly as possible are motivated to lob smoke wherever their teammates are standing in hopes of landing a kill. But as Fehzi points out, this is “probably preventing them from getting the kill in the first place.”
Other players pointed out in the thread that the real problem is how the challenge works. It's easy to assume that smoke assists qualify if a player is killed by distant smoke, which would be easy to do in Battlefield 6 modes like Breakthrough, where enemies can pretty much only come from one direction. However, this challenge requires the teammate to stand and take the kill from within the smoke with severely impaired vision, and with enough players trying to complete it, this has the potential to completely destroy the lobbies.
But whether Battlefield Studios will address this in a future patch remains to be seen, with its focus elsewhere. A recent one Battlefield 6 the update has already overhauled some challenges, with class-specific ones already receiving some key changes. But the developer has already shown a willingness to adapt according to community consensus, so anything is possible if the overwhelming majority wants to see a change with this particular one Battlefield 6 challenge.
