In the first months after the launch, Megabank had 20 characters for players to choose from. In December 2025, the Spooky update went live, giving players an extra character to unlock. This was an exciting moment, as many had already mastered the characters that were already available.

This guide will tell players how to get Roberto, the last character on Megabank character selection screen. It will also tell them everything they need to know about playing as Robert.

How to unlock Roberto in Megabonk

Roberto is not a starting character in Megabankmeaning players won't be able to pick him outright – they'll have to unlock him. First, they must complete some tasks to fulfill the character's unlock requirements. Then they have to buy him from the character selection screen.

To lock up Roberto Megabankplayers must first acquire the scythe and beat Spooky Steve. Essentially, players must defeat both main bosses in the Graveyard in order to claim Roberto. Completing both of these missions will certainly be a feat, but our guide will provide players with some useful tips and tricks that will make it much easier for them.

How to unlock the scythe in Megabonk

Just like Roberto, Scythe was also added Megabank in the ghostly update. To unlock this uncanny character, players must first acquire their weapon, the scythe.

To bring in the Scythe Megabankplayers must beat Big Bob – the stage manager for the Graveyard map. Players must leave the Crypt and visit the Graveyard to meet Big Bob in Megabank. In the Graveyard, they will be tasked with collecting four keys, which will allow them to return to the crypt. But before they return, they must make the most of their time at the Graveyard. At first try, players may think that 16 minutes to level up is plenty of time, but the enemies are tougher compared to Forest and Desert, so reaching the boss is already a more difficult task to begin with.

They must make sure to level up their character as much as they can and find powerful items for the fight against the stage boss. When they are ready, they should head to the crypt, open its door and enter. To find Big Bob, they must reach the back of the crypt and open the next door.

The fight against Big Bob can be challenging if players aren't prepared or aren't sure what to do against him. Big Bob lives in a dark stone room. Players must light the four lampposts in each corner to light up the room and damage Big Bob.

Players must be careful, as he will summon rocks and trees to stop them. A red marker will appear letting players know where he will spawn these dangerous items so they have a chance to avoid them. Big Bob will also occasionally fill the room with lava. Thankfully, there are some platforms that will remain floating, allowing players to avoid this attack.

The best way to keep lighting the lampposts while the floor is lava is to invest in extra jumps at Charge Shrines while you're in the graveyard.

Players will be one step closer to getting the scythe once they have successfully defeated Big Bob. But just like any other unlockable weapon Megabankthey have to buy it in the Unlocks section. Scythe costs 44 silver coinswhich means players may have to grind for some money after defeating the Graveyard map stage boss i Megabank.

If players want to get their hands on the Scythe faster but are short on cash, they can simply refund some of their perks in the store and get some cash back. They can also try to complete some simple tasks that they may have left behind.

How to kill Big Steve in Megabonk

Next, players must defeat Spooky Steve, who they will most likely encounter first, but will undoubtedly have a harder time defeating. Ghostly Steve plays in the crypt as the timer runs out. If they are not quick to reach the Graveyard, they will be face to face with Spooky Steve before they even have a chance to level up properly.

However, when they collect the four keys in the Graveyard and return to the crypt, they will have another chance to summon him and will be much more prepared to take him on.

To defeat Spooky Steve in Megabankplayers must make this the entire goal of the run, as they will need specific items to avoid dying from his attacks. Spooky Steve is extremely bulky, and he is so strong that he will instantly eliminate players if he comes into contact with them.

The best way to successfully kill Spooky Steve is to make him immobile, so players can safely damage him without getting shot by him. Players can do this by choosing items that freeze or stun them, such as Thunder Mitts, Ice Cube, and Power Gloves. They will want to choose Aegis to block oncoming hits and use Dexecutioner, as its Execute ability is how players will be able to damage Spooky Steve. After completing both requirements, players will be able to purchase Roberto on the character selection screen. Players will need total 37 Silver coins to buy in Roberto Megabank.

Roberto character overview

Starting weapon: Scythe – Cut in a circle around you. Killing Elite Enemies gives a stronger attack.
Unique Ability: Hoarder – Free chest every 60 seconds, increasing to 120 seconds across levels. He can also float (a little).

When players play as Roberto, they will have the Scythe as their starting weapon. It protects them against enemies coming from all sides, and it also increases a stronger attack when they eliminate an elite enemy. Players can further enhance this weapon by increasing its quantity and attack speed.

As for Roberto's unique ability, he will create a free chest every minute. As the run continues and players level up, this will only happen every two minutes. Since he will undoubtedly open a higher number of chests, players should take advantage of this perk and try to acquire card items to further improve his stats.

Also, being a ghost, he can jump further than most characters due to his floating ability. The amount of time he floats isn't much compared to Birdo, but it's enough to get him out of a tough situation or reach certain locations.
