How to solve the Reverse Palace Puzzle (Chapter 8)

Ustwo Games' Monument Valley 3 continues the series' tradition of beautiful stories and creative puzzles. As Noor, a young protagonist, you begin your journey learning to keep the lighthouse lit through holy light with the guidance of your mentor. Unfortunately, the mentor is lost in the dark in chapter five, The temple.

The Inverted Palace Puzzle in Chapter Eight is where Noor meets her mentor's soul and learns of an upcoming responsibility – saving lost villagers and a special character called the Nomad, though she won't fully understand it until later chapters. The level eight puzzle features an upside-down palace with complex structures and cozy scenery. With that in mind, this guide will help you learn how to solve Inverted Palace Puzzle (Level 8) i Monument Valley 3.

How to solve the reverse palace puzzle in Monument Valley 3

The Inverted Palace Puzzle has three calming parts that will make you stop and think. Like others Monument Valley 3 levels, it's full of tricky optical illusions that mess with the rules of physics. Here's how to solve all parts of this puzzle in the game.

Part 1: Light and Darkness

In part one of the reverse palace puzzle, you stand in a unique palace, half-immersed in morning light and turned upside down in the night. Your goal here is to enter the red door as shown at the end. To solve this part:

1. Move the blue and pink gear to align the tiles and create a path.
2. Cross the bridge and head towards the palace door on the right.
3. When you enter you will be on the night side of the palace. Move the gear to the left to extend the path and reach the flash window.
4. Shift the switch to the left to connect the road, then enter the green button.
5. Now move the switch to the right to connect the path to the night mode door and enter it.
6. Now you are back in the morning. Switch left, cross the track, go up the stairs and enter the last door at the top.

Part 2: The Inverted Palace

The second part of this Netflix exclusive puzzle is a bit more challenging, with two halves of the castle stand opposite each other. Your goal is to reach red door once more. Here's how to solve this part:

1. Go to the right side of the stairs, climb down and go through the door to the next area. You will find a yellow button — step on it.
2. A pillar will appear. Tap it to grab it and move it to the top to connect the two halves of the palace.
3. Return to the upper door. You will be turned upside down. Climb and then go through the riser gate on the left.
4. On the inverted side, press the yellow button, pull the pillar back and go back to the front door.
5. Now just enter the big red door.

Part 3: Reunion with the Master

In the last part of level eight in Monument Valley 3you enter a dark environment by the sea, with a red moon and black waves, there mysterious mentor awaits for Noor. Here's how to reach him and solve this episode:

1. Start by taking the path on the right side of the black tiles. As you move, new tiles will appear while others disappear.
2. Get past the zigzag track and then keep going straight ahead. When you reach the end, face the sky blue button and stand on it.
3. A short cutscene will play, revealing a new structure. Now move the entire building from the three sky blue circles below, twice to the leftuntil you see stairs appear on the back.
4. Go up the stairs and go up. Move the structure twice again to the left.
5. Go towards the wall, and at the top, move the structure twice to the right.
6. Go down the stairs and press the blue button.
7. A red door will appear in front of you on the right. Simply enter.

Finally, a cutscene will trigger, where the mentor will give some words of wisdom to Noor, hinting at the exciting adventure that awaits her.
