How to get glass in Pokemon Pokopia
Melting furnace is your friend
So, as we mentioned, you can use a melting furnace to create glass using a Pokemon with the firing specialtysuch as Scorbunny, Magmar or Torkoal (all found in Rocky Ridges).
First you have to insert volcanic ash or sand inside it, then lead the Fire Pokémon to the furnace and let it do its job. It takes a while to get even just a piece of glass, so it might be best to put a lot of ash or sand in it and then go do something else while it melts.
As for where to find volcanic ash, there are literally tons of it near the Pokemon Center in Rocky Ridges. Look for the dark gray blocks west of the center (and the tall tower behind it) and break them with Rock Smash.
During our time at Rocky Ridges, we ended up having hundreds of them in our inventory. As for sand, it is more common in other areas, such as Bleak Bleach and the Withered Wastelands (look by the sea).
You can also find glass by breaking any windows you can find while exploring. There are many abandoned homes out there with windows, so just break them to get the material without having to use a melting furnace!
If you don't have access to a smelter yet, just start following the main story in Rocky Ridges, and eventually you'll befriend Magmar and learn about smelting. There will be an oven in the caves, but when you get the recipe from Magmaryou can make one yourself at a crafting table using iron ore and stone. Then you can place one (or more) near the Pokemon Center or by your home.
What is glass used for in Pokemon Pokopia?
You can use glass to make mirrors or make some homes, like a gray hut. You also need 25 glasses to rebuild the Pokemon Center in the Sparkling Skylands biome, which you will unlock later when you increase your trainer rank in Pokopia.
