How to unlock the Everspring Umbrella Where the Winds Meet

Before you can steal the Everspring Umbrella tech, make sure your character has reached at least Level 8 and unlocked Ability Theft. You can get this by talking to Qiu Yuehai at the Peace Bell Tower and complete the exploration mission called “Skill theft: unearned lesson.”

After completing this questline, the Skill Theft system becomes available. This mechanic allows you to observe and copy martial arts techniques from masters around the world.

Reach the Everspring Umbrella Location

Everspring Umbrella Location in Where Winds Meet

The Everspring Umbrella technique belongs to the Velvet Shade Sect, and the master who possesses the skill is inside the palace complex at Jadewood Court in Kaifeng. The easiest way to start the infiltration is by traveling to the Boundary Stone in the South Imperial Garden and heading towards the palace entrance.

As soon as you approach the temple area, the area turns into a stealth section. Guards from the Velvet Shade Sect patrol the area, and if they find you, you'll be sent back to the entrance unless you've already activated a save point inside.

Instead of going straight through the main entrance, the safest way is to climb the scaffolding along the outer wall of the temple. From the stand you can reach a ladder that leads to a pavilion area near the roof. This way you can avoid several guards on the lower level.

Sneak through the temple

When you reach the rooftop pavilion, you'll encounter the first guards in the area. Wait for their patrol pattern and silently knock out the disciple when his back is turned.

Once you've cleared this section, move around the back of the building where more scaffolding leads up. Climb up this structure to reach the highest part of the roof. Here, a small opening lets you enter the palace.

Inside the building you will find a save point, which will be extremely useful if you are discovered later.

From here you carefully go deeper into the palace. Cross wooden beams and drop down onto lower platforms while avoiding the guards patrolling the corridors below. Wait for the guards to look away before going through the narrow corridors and stairs.

Eventually you will reach one storage room with shelves and wooden planks suspended above the floor. As you move across these beams, you will be placed directly above the location of the Velvet Shade master.

Steal the Everspring Umbrella Technique

When you reach the correct position above the master, interact with the Skill Theft prompt. This triggers a Quick Time Event (QTE) where you must copy the master's moves.

Completing the sequence successfully allows your character to learn the technique immediately. After the QTE ends, Everspring Umbrella Martial Arts is permanently unlocked.
