The most reliable way to get salt blocks in Hytale is that set up fishing traps in watercourseswhich can be made on a Farmer's Workbench. Fishing traps can be placed above any lake, pond or river to catch fish over time.

The main purpose of fishing traps is to catch fish, but floating things like seashells, sticks, scraps of linen, Essence of Water and, of course, blocks of salt also get stuck in them.

Whether or not a fishing trap will yield salt blocks upon activation is up to chance. Because of this, it is recommended that players place a large number of them to widen the net so to speak.
