How to get Hisuian Avalug in Pokemon Go

Back 2022, Pokemon Legends: Arceus At Nintendo Switch, we gave us a bunch of Hisuian forms of Pokemon fans who know and love, such as the iconic Gen 1 fire type, Growlithe, the Spiky Pufferfish Pokémon, Qwilfish and Gen 6 ICE-Type, Avalugg, both presented under Ultra Unlock: Hisui Celebration event in Pokemon Go.

There are only two ways to get a Hisuian Avalug in Pokemon Go Right now, so let's go through your options!

It is worth pointing out that when the event ends on July 13, there will be no way to get Hisuian Avalugg (you will have to wait for another event like this one that brings IS/Rock type Pokemon to RAID or as a reward for a research task.

How to get Hisuian Avalug in Pokemon Go

Ultra Unlock Hisui Celebration Event - all field research tasks and rewards in Pokemon Go

If you read this guide before July 13, 2025, you are lucky. During the Hisui celebration, Avalugg can be obtained in two ways:

The first way to get you a Hisuian Avalugg Pokemon Go is to complete the Hisui Celebration Collection Challenge: Space-Time Distortion. Pokemon as shown in this collection can be captured when time space anomalies occur in the game, which you can read more about here. Basically, they happen randomly and last for about an hour. Once you have completed the challenge, you will be rewarded with a guaranteed meeting with a Hisuian Avalugg (you also get XP and Stardust).
The second way to a Hisuian Avalugg is to try some 3-star Raid with other players. There are also similar attacks that are going on during this event with Hisuian Braviary, Wyrdeer and Kleavor. These three Pokémon, including Avalug, have the potential to be shiny.
There is actually a third way, but the answer acts with one Pokemon Go Players who already have a Hisuian Avalugg. So it's not very exciting.

Can Hisuian Avalugg be shiny in Pokemon Go?

JUP!

There really is a chance for Hisuian Avalugg to be shiny Pokemon Go. However, it is worth pointing out that Bergmite, Pokémon, which is developing into Avalugg, does not have an Hisuian form yet, so there is no way to get Hisuian Avalugg through evolution (at least for now).
