ARC Raiders is a PvPvE extraction shooter that will require players to gear up before embarking on an expedition. However, if you die out on the field, you will drop all equipment and weapons for other players to take off your body. For players just starting their journey with the game, the concept of losing their hard-earned cargo can be terrifying. To ease the pressure, you can take a free load before you go on a mission to avoid losing your resources in the field.
This guide is based on ARC Raiders The Server Slam playtest experience and will be updated later to reflect any changes made to the final release of the game.
How to get a free load in ARC Raiders
Players can avoid spending their resources on crafting weapons and equipment, and instead just get a free charge before entering a match in ARC Raiders. The free loadout will give players random equipment, weapons, consumables and throwables in a match, with the only thing guaranteed being the Free Loadout Augment.
So, to get a free recharge in ARC Raidersyou must first select the “Play” button in the main menu. This will take you directly to the map selection screen.
Once the map is selected, you will be taken to a loading screen where you can add items from your stash to your character's inventory. You'll typically do this if you want to start a match with a custom loadout. But right next to the custom recharge, there is a second tab that you can select to get a free recharge.
After selecting the “Free Recharge” tab, all you have to do is click the “Ready Up” button. This will immediately start the matchmaking process, and you will eventually enter a match with random gear.
Your free load will usually include the following items.

Going with free recharge in every match may seem enticing, but it definitely isn't. There are some major pros and cons to using Free Loadout in ARC Raiders, keeping this mechanic balanced. Let's discuss when you should and shouldn't choose a free recharge.
