Bastions in ARC Raiders is one of the larger ARC machines that lurks Topside and can easily demolish players with its machine gun. However, players will eventually need to beat it to obtain Bastion Cells, which are one of the resources required to upgrade your Gear Station to level 3.
While Bastions look intimidating to even approach, let alone fight, you can easily take them down even when alone. As long as you know how to approach the fight, you'll be done with the fight in no time. That said, here's a quick guide on how you can easily destroy a bastion and get the bastion cells from that in ARC Raiders.
ARC Raiders: Electromagnetic Storms, Explained
Electromagnetic Storm is one of the dynamic events in ARC Raiders which is a variant of Night Raid but with lighting that hits the ground.
How to find a bastion in ARC Raiders (location)
While a Bastion can spawn on any map in ARC Raidersone of the most reliable places to find one is either Stella Montis or The Blue Gate. Since Stella Montis is a more PvP-focused map, it is recommended that players attempt to battle a bastion for the first time on Blue Gate.
A bastion will reliably spawn either inside Outer Gates area next to the Checkpoint, or under the dome of the Headhouse.
Best charge to destroy a bastion in ARC Raiders
Before we get into the details of how to defeat one, let's talk about loadout. The Hullcracker is one of the best weapons to quickly take down a bastion. You can either buy it from Tian Wen for 30,000 coins or craft it yourself if you've unlocked the blueprint after completing the Major's Footlocker quest in ARC Raiders.
You also have to at least buy or craft two stacks of Launcher Ammo for that. While it's more than you need, it can be handy if you want to deal with other smaller ARC machines during the fight. Besides the Hullcracker, it's best to have a good supply of healing items and a secondary weapon that you need for PvP (in case there's an enemy raider nearby).
If players can't get a Hullcracker for the fight, they can use an upgraded Ferro to fight a Bastion. However, it will take much longer to get it down.
How to beat a bastion and get bastion cells
The first thing you need to do is find good coverspreferably in a hall that connects to the outer area where the Bastion patrols. This will give you enough cover to avoid Bastion's machine gun attacks. Even if you get hit by it, you'll have the move to hide and heal, which will make the fight much more manageable.
Next, you must lure the bastion to your location by shooting it once with your weapon. Once it's close, you should start targeting its yellow leg joints, which is one of its weak points. Firing enough Hullcracker rounds at the leg joints will immobilize Bastion, which will leave its red core in the center vulnerable to attack.
Be sure to aim from the side of the bastion to land accurate shots on the red core inside the bastion to deal massive damage to its HP. After a few more shots, the bastion will be destroyed, leaving its appendages scattered for looting.
Be sure to loot all parts of the Bastion that players can get two to three bastion cells by taking down a single in ARC Raiders. As soon as you find your first Bastion cell, quickly put it in your Safe Pocket, so that the other cells you loot will automatically go into it as well (since you can stack three Bastion cells in an inventory slot).
