How to get Balmung Sword – Black Ops 6

One of the most popular choices for swords in the Citadelle des Morts is the Balmung, also known as the Raven Sword. This mighty thing Black Ops 6 The Wonder Weapon definitely has its advantages, but how exactly can players get their hands on this sharp and pointed melee weapon that makes hacking and slashing the undead hordes so much fun?

The Balmung Sword is arguably the most complex of the four swords in the Black Ops 6's Citadelle des Morts, but this guide will make it more than easy for players to claim the sword in their own rounds of the map thanks to a simple translation of the Raven Sword code and all the walkthroughs.

Step 1: Obtain the Raven Bastard Sword

Players can get their hands on the Raven Bastard Sword by acquiring a stamp, entering the Dining Hall with the Vulture Aid, and then interacting with the knight statue on the far left. This knight statue is indicated by the stone raven sitting on its shoulder, as well as the dragon graffiti behind it. When players interact with this statue, it will give players the Raven Bastard Sword which players can equip as their dedicated melee weapon.

Step 2: Find the Antiquity in the Alchemical Lab

With the Raven Bastard Sword now claimed, enter the Alchemical Lab where players must begin their hunt for their specific Ancient. If players do not have access to the Alchemical Lab, they simply need to turn on the Pack-a-Punch, as the Alchemical Lab is a secret room between the living room (Stamin-Up) and the dining room (Vulture Aid).

Inside the Alchemical Lab, players look for a specific item that will be lurking on one of the shelves or desks. The spawn is random, as is the item, so players should search the Alchemical Lab for any of these items:

• Horn
• Jawbone
• Fish fossil (rock)
• Scorpion Fossil (Rock)
• Bird skulls

Once players have found one of these items, they must pick it up to continue with the next stage.

Step 3: Solve the Raven Sword Code Puzzle

Players must bring the Antiquities they have to the Tavern Cellar. The tavern can be found in the Town Square (gym area), or simply by paying 500 Essence to fast travel here from the Pack-a-Punch room. Once inside, the south wall between a Crafting Bench and a zombie spawn hole will have a metal dial. Players will want to interact with this dial to place the Antiquity, and then interact with it again to place the Raven Bastard Sword.

Players can now interact with the Raven Sword puzzle wheel, where they have the option to rotate the inner ring with L1 and rotate the outer ring with R1. The goal here is to match the bone fragment players have with the corresponding astrology symbol and element using the bottom symbols (closest symbols to the sword). Once players have matched the symbols with their ancient, press Circle/B to submit the answer. If done correctly, music will start playing and empty orbs will sprout from the ground. If done incorrectly, players must try again the next round.

Step 4: Guide the orbs into the Shadow Rifts

Now that players have solved the Raven Sword puzzle, purple orbs will slowly begin to follow the player. These orbs can deal some damage, so try to avoid them, but remember that the goal is to guide them into an empty tear that appears in the tavern. Three orbs must reach the same void tear, and this must be repeated a total of three times.

The first void demolition is in the Tavern Cellar, where right across from the Crafting Bench, players must get the shadow orbs to follow them so they are sucked into the hole.

The second void is on the first floor of the tavern, right next to the main doors. Guide these purple orbs into the hole by betting on a slow train like you would a zombie horde.

The second void demolition can be found on the second floor of the tavern right by the darts and pool tables. Run around the pool table or take the stairs to manipulate the shadow orb to follow.

Step 5: Interact with Raven Puzzle to get Balmung

The final stage ends with the shadow rift and shadow orb stage, and all players need to do after completing the third shadow tear in the tavern is go back down to the tavern basement where they will be able to interact with the Raven Puzzle Cylinder. If you do, the sword will be sucked into the void, only to emerge seconds later dripping with dark magic. Players can now pick up the Balmung Raven Sword.

If players want to return to Balmung, they just need to head into the dining room and interact with the Raven Knight statue again, which will see the knight sharpen the sword and wait for someone else to claim it again.

Is Balmung Raven Sword good?

Balmung is a great upgraded sword to have in Citadelle des Morts due to its situational activity. Balmung uses the same effects as a Shadow Rift Ammo Mod, so each slash has a random chance to teleport zombies into the sky so they fall to their deaths. Still, perhaps the most intriguing of Balmung's abilities is its Special Attack, which will see players tear a rift into a dark dimension where zombies will be sucked in and killed, much like a mini-LT53 Kazimir Tactical Equipment.
