Atsu begins its journey Ghost of Yotei With a horse without name, but players can actually change it. How to get another horse in Ghost of Yotei
To start, players will need Unlock the “Old Trails” assignment. To activate the old tracks, return to Atsus home in Yotei grasslands on Lake Shikotsu. Once here, hold the touchpad to go into the past where you will play as a children's version of ATSU. To the right of the entrance you will find Atsus's brother digging in dirt. You can now interact with ATSU's brother to start the dialogue between the two twins, where ATSU will mention how their father takes her to the stable. Then you can hold the touchpad again to return to the present with Old Trails Quest unlocked. You can equip this assignment from the map with D-Pad.
Now go to the old stables, which are in the southeastern Shikotsu Woods region. Travel far west from Atsus home to find the old stablesWhere you will encounter two villains who abuse a horse. By killing these enemies you can follow the horse back to the old stables, but when you arrive you will see that they are empty and a settlers remain. Talk to the settlers to start a battle meeting with Saitos forbidden. Once treated, return to the settlers and follow him to an open field, which will trigger a flashback with ATSU and her father.
From here you have to track horses with Atsus's father, which is achieved by looking at the horse manure and following the muddy road to the right until you find a cliff that must be climbed. Once at the top, use the whistle with left on D-pad, and you will then return to the present with a choice of three horses:

The horse does not have different statisticsSo players can choose which horse they like the look most. Once you have chosen a horse you can choose its name with triangle, circle or x, and when you confirm the name you will have a new horse and “Name a friend” bronze trophy!
You can return to the old stables to visit horses that you did not choose and even talk to them to see how they are!
How to call your horse in Ghost of Yotei
To call your horse in Ghost of Yoteihits left on d-pad. This will see Atsu whistle, and your horse will then play behind you.
