Mewgenics is here and is everything you wanted it to be if you're a fan of Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Isaac, allowing you to play through incredibly grotesque areas while fighting even more disturbing and comical monstrosities, making every run feel unique and interesting. That is, until the spiders start showing up in the cave area, which is somehow offset by them being cute spider cats.
Nonetheless, the One Baby Spider boss will be your final challenge in the region, but as expected, taking down a single little Spider Kitten isn't as easy as it sounds. Well, okay, that part is actually easy, but what comes after is something of true horror that will test your skills, potentially ending your long fight if you're not careful and underestimate its strength!
One Baby Spider/Spinnerett Overview
Let's get started, that one One Baby Spider is not the final boss meeting for the cave region, its spinning nozzle, the mother of the lone spider kitten standing in the middle of the arena spawning the moment you kill it, which should only take one attack, since it only has ten HP. Once you do, the real battle begins, and that's it undoubtedly one of the more demanding the ones you've had so far.
MIO: Memories In Orbit – Calderon Boss Guide
How to beat Calderon without losing focus.
The spinning pad has lots of health, is relatively fast and has several tricks up his sleeve which can render all the time and effort put into your current drive completely worthless. Although, like most bosses in the game, she only has access to a handful of abilities, they are all potent and go hand-in-hand with her gimmicks, making her formidable from start to finish. But before we dive into what makes her so strong, let's highlight some more stats about her and give you a recommended team composition!

For this meeting, we love to roll along Fighter, Cleric, Hunter and Tank Collars, which they give the most balance between damage, support and range, so you can drain Spinnerette's HP pretty quickly once you figure out her game plan. While you could replace Fighter for the Thief if you want, know it The spinning nozzle becomes angry when hit from behind, which can be harmful in some situations.
Apart from that, keep your Hunter at a safe distance from her, while the rest of your team basically boxes her in, will allow you to constantly attack her, even though she has you webbed and unable to move freely until you break out of the web cocoon. About your Cleric and Hunter are safe, this battle is yours to win; that's all there is!
How to defeat a baby spider/spinnerett
Now it's time to finally dive into the Spinnerette's move list, what they do and how to counter them, not just to damage her massive health pool, but to survive, as one wrong move can send you down. Overall, she just has four moves in total, with one who causes harm, which is not so bad. She can, though play in Spiderlings and also Spider Kittens, which can quickly escalate the situation. Fear not, with solid planning and execution, she will be no threat at all!
Spinning nozzle – Web
First up is Spinnerette's Web move, who has her move next to her target, turn around and spray a string of webs on them and place them in a temporary web cocoon. What makes this action even more potent is that it covers multiple tiles, meaning if there is one other units behind you, they will also get webbed. Even if it doesn't hurt you, it can make the fight drag on even longer, which we'd like to avoid.
There is no real way to avoid this attack instantly, as Spinnerette can move around the arena at will and unleash this whenever she wants. But you can avoid hitting multiple units by not grouping them, so try to keep everyone spread out a bit. About one the unit is woven, it cannot move until it breaks out by spending its basic attack options for the turn. Fortunately, they can still use abilities, which doesn't make it too bad, depending on the unit!
Spawn Spiderlings – Spawn Spiderlings
Ah, her Spinnerette's Spawn Spiderlings attack, a grotesque and potentially devastating attack that seems somewhat useless on the surface. This is another common act of hers, to have her summon small spiders onto the battlefield who, if they act, will burrow into one of your devices, Infecting them. When a unit is Affected and goes down, the Spiders will emerge from them and destroy the corpse immediately. So, yeah, don't let an attacked unit get killed.
While in some cases your units may be fast enough to attack after a Spiderling is on the field, they are often too fast and will go ahead of you can, which means there is no real way to counter them. If a unit is attacked, make sure your cleric keeps their health above critical levels, as you don't want their corpses to explode when he goes down. In those situations where you can attack before they move, prioritize them above all else!
Spinning nozzle – Bite
Finally, the Spinnerette's actual attack, her Bite, who has her rush up to one of your units and clamp her massive teeth onto their head, trades decent amounts of damage. This is her only action that will cause damage on you, so try to keep your Tank in front of her, letting them constantly try to pull aggro to prevent your squishier units from taking damage. She will often prioritize web devices too, which is something to think about.
To keep yours Hunter just being in range to hit her will basically ensure they'll never be targeted, leaving it a toss-up between your Tank, Fighter and Cleric. Fortunately, if you avoid hitting her in the back, she doesn't get angry, allows you to keep annoying her with your tank!
We recommend that you don't hit her too much with your priest and only use them to replenish your Fighter and Tank's health where needed. Only knock her back with your Fighter if you can guarantee large amounts of damage, as she will attack anyone and anything in her sight when enraged. However, it's important to note that after a few turns when she's enraged, she'll use an action to 'Cooldown', meaning she won't attack for an entire rotation, allowing you to deal even more damage!
Spider nozzle – Hide/Spawn Spider
Finally we have her Hide/Spawn Spider attack, have her escape to the roof of the cave before playing another spider kitten into the arena when she is almost defeated. As at the beginning of the battle, this Spider Kitten will only have ten hp, and defeat it, Spinnerette will return to the fight. Simply one hit on Spider Kitten so again finish the job, like her don't do anything different or new from here on out!
