Arbok & Weezing

Lock mewtwo in, beat mewtwo out

One of the earliest counter -sets in Pocket Was Arbok and Weezing Combo, which helped shape one of the first anti-meta lineups focusing on taking down Mewtwo ex and Gardevoir tires. The good news is that this poisonous dark duo is still a reliable response to the Mewtwo methane.

Since Mewtwo ex is weak to dark types, treats a combined attack from Weezing and Arbook 130 injuries. It may not seem enough to take down the mewtwo ex 150 hp, but here is the catch – arok locks mewtwo ex in for an extra turn. This prevents it from retreating, giving you the perfect opportunity to end it in the next round.

Tauros & Farfetch'd

Victim one, win two

An underrated calculator to Mewtwo Meta is the colorless duo of Tauros and Farfetch'd. Ideally, Farfetch takes the lead and absorbs up to two attacks from an unprepared Mewtwo ex while handling 80 injuries in return. Then you replace it for Tauros – the one from Mythical Island – to deliver an extra 120 injury and take down Mewtwo ex before it can release its ultimate attack.

Now you can claim that Mewtwo ex is not so slow and with Gardevoir's support can charge its ultimate faster. Although true, Tauros and Farfetch'd duo guarantee at least 160 injuries (provided that each one comes in an attack), which is still enough to counteract Mewtwo ex effectively.

Marshadow & Mew ex

Retaliation and reproduction

With an increased 100-harmful attack, Marshadow is one of the best counters for Mewtwo ex. You set it on the board and wait for Mewtwo ex to take down your first attacker. When that happens, you take Marshadow, now in revenge mode, to meet Mewtwo ex with a 100-Damage strike.

If it is not enough to finish the job, you have mew ex ready to step in. With the help of its cargo capacity, MEW ex can copy Mewtwo ex's ultimate attack and deliver a 150-damaged blow that guarantees a knockout.

Scolipede & Weezing

Sting before the slaughter

Scolipede has got a mountain and the roller coaster to run in Pokemon TCGMeta. It quickly became a dominant anti-meta picking and won several tournaments, just to bleach to ambiguity just as quickly. Nevertheless, its effectiveness against the Mewtwo ex -methane remains undeniable.

By poisoning Mewtwo Ex with Weezing, you cause 60 damage -50 from the basic attack and 10 from poison. Follow it up with an attack from Scolipede, and you handle another 120 injuries, enough to take the Mewtwo ex.

The only downside is Scolipedes 140 hp, leaving it vulnerable to MEWTWO EX's ultimate attack and handles 150 injuries. To avoid this risk, make sure to take in scolipede only when it can attack immediately.
