After you activate the Broken Ancient Lightning as part of the “Ancient Barrier” Faction Quest in Pailune's Scorched Mountain, you will be able to reach the Windsong Peaks to find Titan, the Thunder God.
Fighting a god is no small task, so we list what you should bring to this boss fight, along with how to beat all three of his phases with ease. Not only does the Titan have two phases, but he also becomes the Gigantified Titan, which is a bit trickier and mechanic-heavy than his other form, which is why you'll find the guide to beating him below.
Ancient Barrier Walkthrough in Crimson Desert
“Ancient Barrier” Pailune Faction Quest requires players to activate the broken ancient lightning. Here are the steps you need to take.
You will not be able to fight the Titan until you have completed enough faction missions in Pailune to unlock “The Jackal's Scheme” from the Stjar Clan in Skallcove. You can then start “The Clue for Chaos” from the same location.
What to bring before you fight the Titan in the Crimson Desert
-
As always, Palmar pills and Meat skewers/braised meat are essential for boss fights, as these will ensure you can heal his damage, regain Spirit, and of course revive yourself from death.
- Turning Slash is a must combat prowess due to how you're immune when using it, and the damage is pretty high.
- Endurance investing is incredibly important for this fight, since you'll be avoiding his lightning strikes, and you'll have to either climb or spam R2 attacks in his end phase.
How to beat Titan in Crimson Desert
Titanium Phase #1
-
Use Turning Slash (R1+R2) and Blinding Flash Finisher (L1+R1+R2) as your primary attacks.
-
You should single attack when Titan charges up his slow attacks or resting between their own hits.
-
Titan will use stomps with his feet if you get too close, which is easily avoided with a roll.
-
Titan also fires lightning from his spear, which can be dodged with a throw.
-
Your main attack patterns should be: Turning Slash (heavy damage + immunity), then Focus to build Spiritand repeat until his blue health bar runs out.
Titanium phase #2
-
The attack phase remains the same for phase 2: Use twist slash, blind flash and focus to keep up your aggression and hard blows between the Titan's own attacks.
-
The Titan's attack patterns are still slow and easy to dodge, but he will use some new moves.
-
One such move is an invulnerable lightning attack where he will engulf the arena in lightning.
-
To avoid this attack, avoid spamming and avoiding the glowing blue areas that indicate the strike, and spam healing to ensure you don't get killed.
Despite appearing as a two-phase fight, Titan actually has an extra phase. Don't worry about dying in this phase, as you can press retry to start from the Gigantified Titan, instead of starting back in his first phase.
How to beat Gigantified Titan in Crimson Desert
-
Ignore attempts to climb the Gigantified Titan.
-
Roll out of the way of the Gigantified Titan's spear attacks until he slams his fist into the floor.
-
Move his armored fist around to the side with the exposed one the skin and attack it.
- To attack Gigantified Titan's skin is the only way to deal damage.
-
R2 attacks and Turning Slash deal a lot of damage and will eventually stun him.
-
When you're stunned, you can get in a few more hits without worrying about his attacks.
-
Repeat this process until the Gigantified Titan finally dies.
Alternative way to beat Gigantified Titan
-
When the Gigantified Titan slams his fist into the floor, you can climb onto his glove and hold R2.
-
Once his arm is stabilized in the air, run to his left arm and hold onto it.
-
Now use Jump + Triple Force Palm and Flight to get to his back.
- On the back of the Gigantified Titan's neck, you can find his weak point covered by chains.
-
By breaking the chains and stabbing the weak point, the Gigantified Titan will fall.
Climbing can be a little buggy, so on the first day in Crimson Desert we recommend attacking his hands and ignoring the climbing mechanic.
All Titan rewards in Crimson Desert
Killing the Titan will earn you the Reckoning Two-handed Spear and Lightning Bolt Plate Armor:
- Lightning Bolt Plate Armor is not good, as it cannot be upgraded and has a default defense of 14. It also cannot have Abyss Gears. But the natural Lightning Resistance Lv 7 makes it practically the best armor for lightning enemies.
- The Reckoning Spear is exceptional. Not only is the damage and attack speed great for a level 3 two-handed weapon, but it also has 5 Abyss Gear slots and Lightning God's Affliction, which will cause lightning to strike an enemy after you parry them with L1.
