When you finally reach the Golden Star, the mechanical winged dragon, you'll notice that it doesn't tend to stick around long enough for you to hit it with your sword or for you to hit it with your arrows. Fortunately, there is a much easier way to turn the Golden Star into scrap.

To kill the Golden Star you need to use the environment. There's Marni Spears around the boss arena that can be thrown at the Golden Starand we'll show you exactly how and when you can do this to make cards with such a gigantic fire-breathing threat.

Players can unlock a dragon as a mount to fly throughout the Crimson Desert map. But doing so may take some time.

How to beat Golden Star in Crimson Desert

  • Around the edges of the boss arena, you'll find metal posts that glow blue.

  • When you approach these poles, you can interact with them to get Marni's Spear.

  • With Marni's Spear, use L2/LT to aim at the Golden Star, then R2/RT to throw it.
  • Marni's Spear will deal a little damage, but a lot of stun.

  • You need run around the room, avoiding Golden Star's fire attacks and throwing Marni Spears at him until his stun meter fills and forces him to enter the arena.

  • Once the Golden Star is in the arena, you can use Spirit to perform a Finisher (R1+R2), or you can spam attack him with your weapon until he gets up and flies into the air.
  • Repeat the process of using Marni Spears, getting him to fall when his Stun is full, then hitting him while he's down, until he finally dies.

  • Don't worry about missing your Marni Spear shot, as they will automatically regenerate as the battle progresses, so just stay healthy with recovery items, prepare to roll out of the way of his fire attacks, and keep throwing the spears.
