How to beat all 7 Koopalings in Mario Wonder Switch 2 Edition

The content added to the Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder is primarily focused on co-op and multiplayer, but that's not to say there isn't still new content for single players to enjoy. In addition to the Toad Brigade training sessions, the game's Bellabel Park component introduces eight brand new boss fights to further test the player's skill.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder: All Worlds & Course List

With 225 Wonder Seeds for players to collect in total, it takes a lot of dedication and skill to complete each course in Mario Wonder.

Players will encounter the first of these boss fights shortly after arriving at Bellabel Park, though they will have to seek out the rest themselves. Thankfully speaking to Poplin with the blue flag in Bellabel Park will mark the location of the next Toad Brigade tent on the map, after which Super Mario Bros. Wonder players can only fast travel to the nearest lane via the Lanes menu.

How to beat Koopalings at Bellabel Park

The first Koopaling battle pits players against all seven siblings, though it's actually one of the easiest. Players should stand under their clown car and spam the flower power-up until the fight ends.

How to beat Wendy's Showdown (Pipe-Rock Plateau)

You can find Wendy by talking to Captain Toad at the Toad Brigade tent on the Pipe-Rock Plateau. After navigating a short stage and starting the boss fight, you'll need to jump on Wendy's head or hit her with flowers as she makes her way across the screen. After a few hits, fish will start coming out of some of the portals, so be sure to avoid these. They will sometimes jump back up after landing in water, so be prepared for this as well. In the final phase, Wendy grows much larger and starts bouncing around the stage. When this happens, stand under one of the two platforms and spam flowers until the fight ends.

How to beat Lemmy's Showdown (Fluff-Puff Peaks)

super-mario-bros-wonder-koopalings-lemmy

Lemmy is found in Fluff-Puff Peaks. When the boss fight starts, hit the bombs in the spiky balls under Lemmy until there are none left. When he's back on the ground, jump on his head to deal damage. Repeating this a few times will get you to the final stage, where his tower of spiky balls is much larger, but the strategy remains the same: slam bombs into his tower while making sure you don't get hit by any bombs or let Lemmy knock you down. Once all the spiky balls are gone, jump on Lemmy's head to complete the boss fight.

How to beat Larry's Showdown (Shining Falls)

To trigger Larry's Showdown, go to the Toad Brigade tent in Shining Falls and talk to Captain Toad. To complete the boss fight, you must smash the pink glass cube that he hides inside. Some of the sides of the cube may have spikes on them, so make sure to attack from one that doesn't, and also make sure not to get hit by the pink blocks that move down towards you, or the bombs that spawn in when Larry moves to a new cube. When he moves to the top of the screen and the blue fists appear, time your jumps so that you land on top of the fists as they fly towards you and use them to reach Larry's position and deal some damage. Then just rinse and repeat.

How to beat Roy's Showdown (Sunbaked Desert)

Roy's Showdown takes place in the Sunbaked Desert area. His size makes it seem a little intimidating at first, but it's actually one of the easiest Koopaling fights in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Avoid all the falling projectiles by standing under the platforms until the bird flies in and drops the pot. When it does, pick it up and get under Roy so the projectiles from the pot hit him. Later, Boos will start flying across the screen, so you have to choose your moment to jump over them when there is a gap between projectiles. There are also a few points where Roy goes back to his ghost ship. When this happens, look for a gap in the bottom of the ship and make sure you are under it when the ship slams. After enough hits, the boss fight will end.

How to beat Iggy's Showdown (Fungi Mines)

You can start Iggy's Showdown by talking to Captain Toad at the Toad Brigade tent in the Fungi Mines area. When the boss fight starts, make your way to the left side of the boss area until the giant piranhas appear to your right. When they do, jump on their heads and use them to move right towards Iggy, being sure to press the B button when you land to get some extra height on the resulting jump. You'll have to dodge projectiles as you move to the right, and also keep an eye out for any piranha plants whose heads are facing upwards rather than sideways, but the strategy remains consistent throughout the fight. After enough hits, Iggy will run away and you'll get another Bellabel Flower.

How to beat Morton's Showdown (Deep Magma Bog)

Morton can be found in the Deep Magma Bog area by talking to Captain Toad at the Toad Brigade tent. To complete the boss fight, you must jump up and grab the handles to pull Morton's strings and force him to hurt himself. To reach the handles, you have to use the crates, which fly into the air whenever Morton slams his hands into the ground. He will destroy the squares if he hits them though, so the best strategy is to stand away from the squares until he locks in his attack and then quickly get on top of one before it flies into the air. Assuming you're fast enough, you'll be able to use the extra height to reach the handle. Repeat this process enough times, and Morton will escape, allowing you to claim the penultimate Bellabel Flower.

How to beat Ludwig's Showdown (Bellabel Park)

super-mario-bros-wonder-koopalings-ludwig

Ludwig's Showdown becomes available immediately after beating Morton and can be triggered by talking to Captain Toad in Bellabel Park. It is the last of Super Mario Bros. Wonders Koopaling boss fight, and arguably the hardest. The fight starts out easy enough though. You just need to avoid his lightning and use the platforms to gain enough height to jump on his head. More platforms will appear over time and water will start pouring out of them, which can make climbing easier if you're having trouble. After the first hit, Ludwig will summon a clone, and the cycle will repeat, with each hit leading to more and more clones. You can kill the clones by jumping on their heads, which will result in fewer projectiles to dodge, but where possible you should just aim to hit the real Ludwig as quickly as possible, as all the clones will disappear when he takes damage.

After three or four hits, an army of clones will appear and Ludwig will fly up high. When this happens, swim up the waterfall in the middle of the boss area, while making sure to avoid the lightning strikes from the clones. Once at the top, you must beat Ludwig three more times. He has no clones this time, but his attacks become much harder to dodge. Climb up the platforms as fast as you can and pay attention to where the next explosion will hit. There is usually enough space on the platform to avoid the lightning, but there may be times where you need to jump over it instead. In these situations, the floating high jump badge can be incredibly useful. Whichever approach you choose, just focus on dodging the lightning and dealing damage, and the fight will be over soon enough.

Rewards for beating all 7 Koopalings in Super Mario Bros. Wonder

Defeating all seven Koopalings will reward players with the “Victory over Koopalings” flag.as well as All Flower Power brand. The latter will make it so that each Super Mario Bros. Wonder power-up turns you into Flower form, so if you're a fan of the new power-up, this one's for you. Recovering the final Bellabel Flower will also unlock buffed versions of all seven bosses in the Extras section of Toad Brigade's training menu, so if you're still in the mood to stomp on some Koopalings, the game has you covered!
