How do evolutions work in FC 26?
To find the Evolutions tab, go to the club and then Evolutions to the right of the Squad tab. Players can then browse the currently available EVOs, some of which cost coins or FC points, while others are free. New EVOs will be added weekly, with more powerful ones appearing as the football season progresses.

There are different expiration dates for when EVOs must be claimed and when they must be completed. One may need to be claimed within 24 hours, but players then have a week to complete for example.
Once you are satisfied, confirm EVOwhich can mean paying with coins or FC points. Nothing will happen to the card yet, though objectives must be completed for the upgrades to occur.
Cards can accept multiple EVOs, but only one at a time.

Once an Evolution has been assigned, it's time to do it complete the objectives and level up the card. These goals can be seen below My evolutions tab. Objectives can only be completed for Active EVO players, with these slots being filled automatically. In your squad, players with one Active EVO will have a green circle next to its card.
Most users can only have 2 active EVOs at oncebut Ultimate Edition and EA Pro Play owners can have 3 active EVOs. This was raised in December 2025.
Typically, these objectives will require the EVO player to participate in Squad Battles matches with a minimum difficulty of Semi Pro or in online Rush/Rivals/Champions/Live Events. For these, they only need to play part of the game, so they can be subbed on or off.

Some objectives require multiple games to be played, while others add condition that matches must be won or that Active EVO must score a certain number of goals. Simple EVOs that only buff a player slightly can only have one goal, while EVOs that add 15 to a player's total multiple targets to be completed.
The best EVOs in FC 26 will also give player cards a new cosmetic lookdepending on the current theme.
