How each Saiyan survived Planet Vegeta's destruction, explained

Summary

  • Vegeta, Nappa and Raditz are Kanon Saiyans who survived Planet Vegeta's destruction due to luck and stubbornness.

  • Broly and Paragus survived in different ways in their cannon and non-canon versions.

  • Other survivors Saiyans such as Turles, Bardock and Tarble are available in non-cannon materials.

Dragon ballS Saiyans is a breed of terrible warriors, almost wiped out when evil emperor Frieza destroyed their home world, Planet Vegeta. Emphasize almost. As Frieza will eventually regret discovering, some Saiyans managed to survive the destruction of his planet and would live on to become some of the strongest creatures in the universe. You probably know about Goku and Vegeta, but there are some more who just barely escaped extinction.

This article is divided into two sections: one for Saiyans that canonically survived and one for those who survived in non-cannon materials and stories. Dragon ball Has lots of content, and part of it, such as the early films and special offers, are considered non-canon despite the fact that Toei animation also published them. However, they are still worth mentioning, because there is a chance that they can get into Canon one day, such as what happened to Broly. However, the list without canon will only include Saiyans from movies and OVA, as there are far too many surviving Saiyans from the non-Canon games and Super Dragon Ball Heroes To mention here.

Goku

Earth's strongest protector, cookie root, John Dragonball, whatever you want to call him, son Goku is the main face of the franchise, and it is all thanks to him who survives the destruction of planet vegetable. So, how did he do it? Originally, Goku is believed to have been sent to the earth as a child to conquer it and was lucky enough for it to have happened just before Frieza's genocide. Saiyans are extremely powerful creatures, so much so that they send their young people to demand the planets that they consider weak. This was the explanation Raditz, Gokus Older Brother, gave after Dragon Ball Z. Section 1, “Raditz's arrival”.

But that explanation has since been feedback and Dragon Ball Super: Broly The film gave the true story. In it, Gokus steals parents, Bardock and Gine, a space pod to put him in and send him to a remote plane. Bardock had suspected that Frieza planned to wipe out all Saiyans and at least wanted to save his son. Gine even wanted her and Bardock to come with Goku, but they would have risked being discovered by scouters and so had to stop. Bardock did not choose the earth because he wanted Goku to conquer it in Saiyan's name, but simply because he believed its inhabitants were too weak to hurt his son. However, Retcon does not necessarily change the past, because Raditz just did not know that his parents sent Goku out exclusively to save him rather than to invade the earth.

Vegeta, Nappa and Raditz

These three are all grouped in one because they were all together under Planet Vegeta's destruction. Vegeta, Nappa and Raditz were part of an invasion force that was sent to conquer a named planet. When Frieza sent the message that led to all Saiyans to return to Planet Vegeta, Vegeta (Prince) ignored his order. Little did they know, the actions of the little rebellion saved their lives, because the reason Frieza wanted all Saiyans gathered was so that he could wipe out the entire breed in a strike.

In addition, two other named Saiyans were with Vegetas crew, as shown in Dragon Ball Super: Broly Film. Their fate is unknown, but since they have never been mentioned or seen again, they probably died sometime before Raditz came to get Goku on earth.

Broly and Paragus

Broly and Paragus in Dragon Ball Super: Broly

Although originally unable to canon, Broly has been brought to the canon world Dragon ball By Dragon Ball Super: Broly Film. In both non-canon and cannon-iter, both Broly and Paragus survive the destruction of their home world, but in different ways.

In the non-canal version, Broly and Paragus were actually on Planet Vegeta when Frieza destroyed it. They survived by pure power of Baby Broly creating a KI bubble to protect him and his father from the blast and survive until they found a planet to land on.

In the new Canon adaptation, King Vegeta Young Broly assured an boundary plane because he feared the child's incredible power and did not want him to overshadow his son, Prince Vegeta. Paragus forced another Saiyan who named beetroot to go with him to the planet Broly was on, where they stopped, and that is how they survived Planet Vegeta's downfall. In the case of beets, he was unfortunately killed by Paragus to preserve the limited food supply on the border level.

Bantar

Explosive Evolution Turles

He may look like Goku, but Turles is actually not related to him in any way. He just looks coincident like him. You can thank Saiyan Genetics for that, but who do you thank him who survived Planet Vegeta's destruction? Strangely, his past was really explained in Dragon Ball Z: Tree of Mightthe movie he played in. But Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Bend some light on it and pointed out that Turles was probably on a secret assignment somewhere earlier.

Ever the Troublemaker but he pulled out his mission and abandoned Frieza's army to form his own group, Crusher Corps. It is unknown what exactly his secret assignment could have been, but when Frieza blasted the planet Vegeta, Turles probably already left the Saiyans and was nowhere near the planet.

Bardock (type of)

Dragon Ball - Super Saiyan Bardock

Everyone knows that Gokus Father, Bardock died in the hands of Frieza along with Planet Vegeta, but there is a Vad om eggs called Dragon Ball: Episode of BardockWhere he survived … in a way. Instead of dying and going to life, Frieza's Supernova sends in a mysterious way bardock to the past instead. The ambitious OVA hoped to be able to determine how the legend of Super Saiyan began, and that is all thanks to Bardock magically survived the blast.

Tower

Tower

No, this is not cabba. Tarble is Vegetas long lost little brother. He appears in an egg called Dragon Ball: Return of Son Goku and Friends! Looking for vegetables and asks for his help.

Although he only shows up in a non-canon egg, Tarble is a real character in the cannon, although it is unknown if he actually survived Friezas Supernova, or if he did, no one knows where he is now. IN Dragon Ball Z: Battle of GodsBulma mentions vegetables to have one brother when they needed another Saiyan to perform Super Saiyan Good Ritual. Vegeta confirms his existence but claims he has no ways to contact him. IN Dragon Ball Super: BrolyTarble was once again mentioned in a flashback by Nappa, who wondered if he had survived.
